I posted a thread back in 2019 on ear buds but it's been close to 3 years so I'm guessing preferences have changed. I've gone through beats and LGfp9 since then. I did not like LG at all. Not enough base and the app did not work at all. The beats were great for base but a bit muddled and you couldn't change sound at all.

Whats everyone using now?

I like a lot of bass but would prefer a product you can equalize on an app
Multi point would be great but not necessary. I would definitely like a product that can change from device to device seamlessly as well as use independently.

Hi Pheedno, first of all we need to differentiate between earbuds and IEM´s (in ear monitors) to know what you want exactly:

Earbud / IEM
1638539942123.jpeg 1638540067209.jpeg

Then we need to know if they´re for home use or outdoors / gym etc, earbuds obviously isolate less and you´re more aware of your surroundings whilst wearing them, they can also leak more sound. Then we need to know if you want a cabled solution or a True Wireless Stereo one (bluetooth) the latter having less sound quality overall. Last but not least is the question of price and how much you want to spend.

Beats and Bose are not that well regarded in specialised audio forums and I see you already know why, regarding the ability to equalize, I use Neutron Music Player on my phone, it has a built in equalizer and sounds good.

Thanks, Nyoco. This is how little I know. I didn't specify.
I'm looking for wireless earbuds. Used for music indoors and outdoors. I do not have great hearing so the volume needs to be elevated(The new LG I had to turn all the way up and it was still too low in some songs.)
I listen to quite a bit of dance music so bass is highly regarded. And the ability to stay in your ear in moving around quite a bit.
I would definitely like to have the ability to change the sound through an app of some kind for times when talking on the phone or listening to a podcast.
Mutli point is a plus but not necessary. However am looking for at leas the ability to disengage and reconnect to another device without manual prompts

What’s yours price point?

Any price for the right product

The Sony wf-1000xm4 are pretty hard to beat without going way up in price. They run about 240
Indeed that is the one I would buy if I was in the market for a TWS, for those with smaller ears maybe the Technics EAH-AZ60 or the Jabra Elite 7 Pro but honestly get the Sony´s, like heavyhitter said hard to beat and universally praised.

I like whatever brand they gave me the last time I flew 10 years ago.

Joking aside I very rarely use earbuds but when I need to I still have these from the OG gameboy lol. I did buy a pair of KOSS once that I really liked as well.

I also have never spent more than $50.00 on a cell phone so I may not be the guy to ask about tech. lol

What about Sennheiser?
I have the Sennheiser wireless ear buds, Before that the bose ones. I really like how crisp the sound is with the Sennheiser but the bass isnt that punchy

Whatever comes with your iPhone. I used to not believe that and never take them out of the box but I’ve bought multiple versions of every other brand and about iPhone 6 I tried again and fell in love. Last longer every new generation and now earbuds.

One exception is Bose over the ear/studio sets.

I worked at Best Buy years ago so and we new what the best electronics were and our favorite on overnights was a single speaker alarm clock by Boston Acoustics. It blew up the entire store.

I loved my Skullcandy Titan wired earbuds for years before switching to the Skullcandy wireless headphones which were also just fine but neither did well in the gym or on a run. So bought the Skullcandy wireless buds but had crappy low volume and kept falling out as soon as sweat would get in my ear. I'm currently using Jaybird Vista sport wireless buds and they don't fall out, sound is good, and you could wear these in the shower and they'd stay in. I understand there is a Vista 2 out now but are $200 vs the $150 for the original Vistas so not something I'd do as I'm pretty used to these. Maybe with my next phone I'll upgrade my ear buds too. Maybe I'll try the Sonys next but they'd have to be pretty good.

Also used the Samsung Galaxy wireless buds which I only bought bc I have a Galaxy Tablet and phone and they weren't great but seem to get decent reviews.

i just bought a pair of these to listen to music at the gym, and podcasts at work. Relatively cheap and surprisingly good sound. Nice punchy bass. They also come with a squishy foam pair of ear pads that stay in my ears really well. Think orange ear plugs

I personally only have experience with over the ear headphones, but these wiresless buds would probably sound great.

Audiophile line.

Yup that's the ones. They're mil-spec and very tough. In the rain, dropped, stepped on, they refuse to die.

I bought these for my kids last week and tried them out. https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Bluetooth-Canceling-Resistance-Settings/dp/B08LN1J229/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=37IRIAI62RENR&keywords=jlab+anc+wireless+earbuds&qid=1638565469&sprefix=jlabs+anc+,aps,665&sr=8-3
45 bucks. The active noise canceling on them works very well. And there’s lots of deep bass without distorting the vocals. Even with just one in at full volume with the anc turned on it can be hard to hear someone speaking to you
For 40 bucks I might just order a pair for the hell of it. My wife or daughters will use them if I don't.

I’ve actually been pretty happy with them. I got them for 35 at kohl’s on Black Friday. There’s 4 sizes of silicone ear inserts and one of foam that really stays in your ear. The charge seems to last quite a long time, and the bass is very good. I have a pair of anker sound streams as well that sound pretty dang good, but they fall out of my ears all the time and are not very loud. These ones at 3/4 volume with the anc on and you really can’t hear anyone talking to you unless their being very loud. And they have yet to fall out of my ears once with the blue foam ear inserts. I’ve been wearing them for about 7 days
