Stress is a generalized response to almost any stimulus.
Avoiding stress is almost imposible. Working, traveling, working out a few of the factors that trigger the stress response.
High stress levels, which are higher in weight lifters, can weaken the adrenal glands. When stress continues over a long time the adrenal glands response to this stress can deplete the body`s hormonal and energy reserves, and the glands may eiter shrink is size or enlarge. The over production of cortisol hormone caused by prologed stress can weaken the immune system.
Adreanal insufficiency is some times linked to thyroid problems as well.
First stage there is a stresser which upsets-disrupts the body`s metabolic balance of homeostasis.
Next stage is the alarm reaction, during this stage the body reacts to stress though a predictable (sterotyped) chain of chemical and hormone events.
The bottom line, no metter cause of the stress, the response of the body is the same.
