I'm going to assume the "majority" of guys looking at this HRT forum are the older guys. I'm 51 and been on various BP meds for the past 5 years or so. Currently on Telmisartan 80mg/day keeping me in the 140's/low 90's range. I know this isn't ideal so I'm contemplating adding something else, possibly Amlodipine 5-10mg/day. Question: what's worked for you as far as BP meds? I know more cardio, better eating and drop some weight but that's just not working for me. I'm doing 70-100mg Test E/week fyi.

I’ve settled on Lisinopril after trying lots of them. No real sides and keeps my in the 130’s / 80’s. when I go to the doc I get the white coat hypertension and it spikes to the 160-170s. I suffer from the bp anxiety visit and can feel it spike in the waiting room . To combat this I’ve started keeping a log at home and monitor my bp several times per day and take the overall average . 130s / 80s for me all day on that one bp Med. I’m also on 200mg of TRT per week

I’m taking bystolic 5mgs a day. Bp was 141 over 74 the other day. I feel pretty good on it. I do 30 min of cardio 5 days a week. I eat pretty good also.

Have you ever tried lowering your TRT dose? My doc prescribes 200mg per week too but I have found that's too much for TRT purposes at least for me. Lowering mine down some has improved my BP without the need of any meds.

4 weeks ago I decided to get off the lisinopril and started doing 30-40min of hard cardio (140bpm) 5x per week, just got back from the cardiologist, I was 116/69. I was 150/95 when I started the lisinopril again last year. Cardio for the rest of my life for me.

Hmmm I may have to try this. I’ve been on lisinapril and hydrocloadiazide haha however it’s spelled. My no ranges fro 160/90 to 130/85 depending on the situation. I get bad white coat. And they have to use a thigh cuff as well. For us guys with bigger arms the smaller cuffs will jack it up big time cause it get to tight.. I try and keep it under control. I think the meds really mess with the pumps. Would you agree with that.. even in a low try dose of 200 mg has me elavated. I am pretty sure if I came off off everything my bp would be normal..

I took atenolol for many years @ 25 mg a day and I had 0 side effects worked good too

I have taken Losartan, and Lisinopril with Amlodipine - Losartan worked great when it was a name brand (not generic) - probably the 6 months after it went generic it worked great, after that my blood pressure went crazy like I wasn't on anything. The pill quality was terrible 6 months after it went generic this was the same time I started having issues. I went on Lisinopril and it worked good (but had the dreaded Lisinopril cough) I was also on Amlodipine, between the two everything was great for about 2 years then had lower leg swelling from the Amlodipine. I am currently taking Valsartan, it's the best one to date, it's the only med I take. I am fit and 54, hopefully I have no problems going forward.

Surprised nobody has said clonidine.

I use .1mg 1-3x/day

I use cialis as well, 25mg eod. It makes a great PWO, and keeps my blood pressure in check. If I’m in the middle of a blast, or having issues with elevated blood pressure I’ll up my dose to 25mg/day.

I take the lowest dose of lisinopril and hctz, and hard cardio 5-7x a wk, keeps me good. ed 10mg test definitely helps vs 1-2x per wk.

I walk 2-3 miles a day and do HIIT training 2x a week. Lift most days. Eat healthy and try to support nitric oxide production with foods as much as possible. On HRT my BP is around 97/60 in the morning. But can get up to 116/70 when on a small cycle. And don't take BP meds.

Beet root powder is proven to lower BP and relax resting blood vessels. It’s all natural. Something you could try before taking another med. take it in the morning. Add cialias to it and it will drop more.

I have been using beet root powder for almost 2 years now to control my bp. In the past I was using lisinopril with hctz. I have dropped about 20 pounds and discontinued my bp meds but my by was still borderline high. Once I introduced beet root powder my by stays around low 120’s over low 70’s. The stuff definitely works

It has a high iron count. So my dad either donates blood or comes off it for a couple weeks. We prefer to donate blood
