BP From Preworkout

So I went to a walk in medical office about an hour after the gym today. I use a stim free preworkout and add either a half or whole serving of fat burner with it strictly for the stimulants. Usually take a half serving. Today was a full 275mg serving and my bp was 140 something over 90. Almost shit myself right there. Just sharing this experience as a little food for thought. Don't I'll use that much again in the future.
 
140/90 isn’t horrible if it’s just for a short duration like after taking stimulants. If it’s persists long after then you’re entering the world of hypertension.

I realize it's temporary but me personally, I don't NEED that much caffeine. Not gonna go passed half a dose anymore.
 
I take 12.5mg of metoprolol after my workout now and another 12.5 at bedtime..bl after the workout got really high on me
 
Can you post the specific pre workout and ingredient profile? I'll take a look and see.
 
I use a fat burner with a non stim pe. So I can control how much caffeine I may or may not want or need. Hydroxycut by Muscle Tech.
 
I don't think this is news to anyone here. You should see the study they did on BP while squatting, 4XX over 3XX. Makes sense and shows you what the heart can handle in the short term. That said, please everyone, check your BP in this lifestyle and keep it in check. One of the simplest things to check and remedy if need be! Avoid kidney failure and cardiomyopathy!!

Couldn’t agree more! What’s your personal view on “slightly elevated” and intervention with Hawthorne, magnesium, Carditone etc?? At what point do you thinks it’s appropriate to implement an ARB, etc?

If one is in the mid to high 130's over 80's and that is fairly static try supplements. If that doesn't work, look into prescription meds. Definitely 140's over mid to high 80's get on prescription medication unless something like Carditone can get it down. Might sound low to some but long term it can cause damage. Pre-workouts don't help the situation.
