Cool vid thanks. Great hunting story too. Branch is a beast.

i really dont see how he hasnt hurt himself yet

and let me get this straight, he mentioned failure at one point, then later on he said 25 sets before deadlift? wtf

is it insane or are we all just pussys when it comes to overtraining?

I don't like his deadlift style. Why allow the weight to slam the floor with every rep like that? It just looks amateurish to me. Control it!

Its his genetics that let him still grow with that type of training. Take someone with average genetics, put them on 10g aas and 20iu GH ED and they wont gain shit training like that.

Mate with all due respect, just cause his form isn't pretty, you still have to take into consideration the weight being moved. Not going to have too many little guys who can lift what he lifts. Explosive lifting , be it pretty or ugly still produces force which will elicit growth.

Another pro doing high volume. Hmmmm

I like how guys pick apart the second best bodybuilder in the world. Your training got you where?

Beside Kia, Branch is the most impressive BB for his age out there to me. He seems to be a very geniune individual and doesn't seem to get caught up in all the publicity such as others.

Big, strong and thick monster for sure, but to be honest, not my favorite physique.

I'm not picking him apart, genius. I'm saying I don't like seeing a pro allow the barbell to SLAM into the floor like he does. Not a good example for the kids if you know what I mean. I bet you're one of those dudes that think you have to slam the weights to be as awesome as Branch is.

I'm not gonna comment on his form, but Dante did post at IM about 'getting weird' (sorry dante, I can't remember the correct phrase used, correct me as needed.) with form for added growth to those who reach a plateau or who've stalled in progress on the National or Pro level. Is injury at a higher risk, YES, but it works for him, whether it's genetics or not. That kind of training is NOT for everybody. Dante mentioned it towards the beginning of Dusty's thread at IM, so i'll let him explain the details on it if he chooses.

One thing you have to take note of is that yes his form is out of the norm for safety purposes, but he is also using light weight because he's been out of the gym since the Olympia. That weight to him would be like us mere mortals using the bar (yes i'm exaggerating here some to make a point). He lifts heavier once he is back full-board.

The guy is a work horse though, and his time in the gym is unmatched by many. He is intense as fukk.

BMJ

I used to critique Branch all the time about the way he trains and his form, and also saying genetics are the only thing allowing him to grow BUT..... He has added quality stage weight and consistent improvements year after year since his career began. Dunno about you guys but I cant name another pro who's been in the game for over 15 years who has made consistent improvements in mass AND shape since they started.

nah, son I need no triggertrip to be dickhead

let's all be friends and play nice again alrigghtythen

lets not have a bodybuilding.com childrens argument now......... One opinion is as good as another.

that bear hunting story is whats insane, hunting down and KILLING life! wild or not, them bears make babies and have families just like us and no human wouldnt want no body hunting them down for the KILL as they can imagine what that feels like, so does a bear, to me hunting for the need of food is one thing but to hunt and kill for the thrill is another, hunting laws are totally wrong and disrespectful to life
