Burning in quad while injecting

Ok quick question. I was injecting yesterday in my quad have done it thousands of time never a problem. Everything went fine at first but halfway through an extreme burning sensation began so bad I had to pull out and finish the shot in my glute, no burning there. Now other than the burning in my thigh there was no other sides until this morning when I woke and found the induction site with about a 1 inch radius swollen/puffy and bruised. Not really any pain with it and not warm to touch just looks freaky. Just wanted see if anybody have experienced this. Also aspirated no blood and pulling out it didn't really bleed either. Thanks

I've had this happen a few times, almost always a fair amount of blood that comes out after pulling it out, and a nice little bruise the day after - I've just attributed it to hitting a vein on the way down and being fairly close to it during inj. It happens almost exclusively on quad inj.

I stopped injecting quads, some buddies of mine have eventually quit also, there's a nerve in there, if you are unfortunate enough to hit it, you will know,lol. Maybe for several days afterward too. I do delts, tris, glutes, done traps a few times

I have had the same thing happen I figured I hit a nerve

That used to happen to me quite often when I pinned with a 1" needle. I thought I nicked a vein or injected too close to a nerve. I would put some ice on it for about an hour and take some tylenol and benadryl just for good measure.

Now I pin with a 5/8 needle and so far I haven't had any problems.
