I know this is not what you are asking but you might consider switching to cream of rice. Its gluten free, very tasty and just as good of a carb as grits.
Instead of drinking a shake and having gritts ...... you can add your protein right in there and cook it up... just a suggestion if you want to kill two birds with one stone...
Or if you dont want to alter it too much.. add like half a spoon of chocholate whey on top of the gritts..but...
Try cooking the protein right in there with the gritts.. Or ... add the powder on top of the gritts and top it off with cinnamon or splenda.. now your really talkin!
Same with oatmeal .. you can cook it on the stove.. add some chocholate whey and bake it like a nice little cake.. then frost it with splenda..
this man KNOWS. coconut oil/salt is all you need. make sure you got enough water in them so when they cooking they are soupy...they will harden. if you cook them at the consistency you want to eat them at you will be disappointed.
