Can I ask a dumb question again?

Man, as a Personal Trainer, do you have any idea how many times I have to give that 'speech' on how ab work doesnt get you lean???! If I had a dollar for each time, Id retire.
 
LOL! Not a dumb thing to say Phil. I too have been asked that so many times. "Why aint I losing this flab even though I do 100+ crunches?"
No matter how many damn times you tell them that diet id 99% of the ab solver they still just don't get it!

Now it's not enough to do crunches, so every ding-dong personal trainer at my gym has their people doing them on a goddamn rubber ball!

those are for my fat ass to sit on while I tell a client to shut up and push, thats the only good use I can find for them. People who ask me that I tell them "you are what u eat", my biggest complaint is people that know that they eat a crappy diet and drink too much alcohol, yet they complain how fat they are, or that they cannot lose weight????? Uh huh. One word ACCOUNTABILITY!!!!!

Probably somewhere around the time our society starts using thier brains and stops believing everything they here. and when people realize AAS can be used properly and that they should not be grouped together with coke and heroin. On this day congress will also realize they have bigger things to worry about and quit wasting time on steroids in baseball. Probably the biggest marker that this day has come is that pigs will sprout wings and take over the skies!

What excercise do you think is best for development...like for me...

Hanging leg raises or that funny excercise i saw you do that looks like you are hiccupping on your back?....i kow diet will bring out detaisl but if you lack the muscle in that area it could take alot of dieting to see it.....

(oohhh man im gonna take a BEATIN for this...)

A bigger fuller muscle beneath will show through layers of fat much better than a small flat muscle. The more developed it is, the deeper the cuts, the fuller it is, the more it can show through layers of fat. BUT obviously youl also see it better if you lose the fat on top lol, but id say BOTH options is the answer, muscle development and fat loss.
 
There is no such thing as spot reduction. Ive had people tell me in the same conversation "Im going to do a 100 crunches ed to make my abs SMALLER" then 10 seconds later they say " Im going to do 100 curls ed to get my bis BIGGER" :confused:

I usually dont give out advice in the gym but I've been watching this young guy bust his ass for a few weeks now. He does situps every night. Finally I asked him what his goals were. I knew the answer but I asked if he was trying to strengthen his mid section or lose the fat. I just told him to up his cardio in placement of the the crunches a few times a week.
 
not true...i do 3000 crunches each and every day and i have an awesome 6 pack. i can only see them when i'm sitting in the tub. i can see 6 horizontal creases that resembles....mr michelin...lmao
