carb loading

what is a good rule of thumb you can follow for carb loading? I personly like to just start eating 50g with every meal on thursday and after every meal just look at my self to see how I look and then make the call on what to do from there.
 
When prepping for a contest, I like to deplete Mon - Wed and load up with the highest amount of carbs I was taking in the weeks before. For example, if my carb load days the weeks leading up to the final week consisted of 300g of carbs/day then on Thr of the final week I'd do 300g of carbs and tapper off friday and saturday.
 
I like to deplete and deshidrate for 10 days and carb up for 5 days starting with 400 g of carbs a day and finishing with 600 gr of carbs with some simple carbs the last 2 days with some good diuretic without water restriction.... thats my way to get a density look...
