Hey PM Members, I've spent a few days really going through the begginer posts here, and you guys are really amazing to be guiding us through a sport that can sometimes come with major info overload.

My quesiton is in regards to Cardio. I've heard the rumors that by doing cardio after an intense weight training day isn't the best move for muscle development/growth.

Is it better to do cardio on a cardio only day?
Or will an intense weight training workout compensate for not adding cardio to the end of a workout.

Thanks in advance to anyone that can clarify this.
 
I think it depends on your goals...

Is this off season cardio or cutting cardio?

Hey Willy,

Neither actually, my goal at the moment is to achieve a toned/lean body. I know it's important to tie in strength training into the workout but talking to different people everyone says something different.

You guys on here are really knowledgable and I'd take your advice over other people that I've spoken to.

Any help would be really appreciated - I know the site is primarily a BB Forum, but it's baby steps for me right now.
 
whats up brotha man,

i wouldnt say cardio would hurt you unless you were doing really high intensity for a long time. maybe 25-30 minutes of moderate intensity should help you achieve the look you want.

now if i could only get my ass on a treadmill id be happy. i hardly have the motivation to get my ass in the gym anymore!!

Hey bro, thanks for the reply.

Cardio for me feels like a great finisher to a workout - so it's good to know it's not a negative in my workouts.
 
cardio post workout for 30 mins or so 3-4 times a week wouldn't be a problem for your goal of getting more toned and lean, it's a good idea actually.

Personally I like cardio first thing out of bed with one scoop of whey in water to help prevent catabolism. I just think it's get the day off to a good start
 
What is the best HIIT intervals for burning fat without losing muscle?
