If I am doing 45 minutes (or there abouts) for cardio 4 to 5 times a week. Is it best to stick with one exercise for each session or mix it up?

ie,Treadmill for 15 minutes, bike for 15 and stepper for another 15 or just stick with the treadmill for the full 45?

I have my iphone with me to watch to pass the time, but 45 minutes on one machine is go bloody boring (and I can't handle more that 20 minutes on the bike before my arse goes numb!).
 
if switching machines is something that makes cardio interesting for you, then go ahead and switch machines. It's more important for something to hold your attention and be motivated, because if not you will hate doing it and not get as much out of it, just "going through the motions". 45 minutes of cardio is 45 minutes of cardio, just keep your heartrate constant and you'll be good to go.

GO for it. i would do 20 mins on the stair machine and kill it, then switch to elliptical for the last 20-25. still noticed exact same results.
 
I think it comes down to what gets your heart rate elevated the most with the LEAST perceived exertion. This generally means there is more muscle working at once, for example, the eliptical does this well because it involves the hamstrings, calves, and glutes more than the stationary bike. This isn't true for everyone obviously.
 
For me personally I just believe in releasing stores fatty acids (Through supplementation) and the burning of these fatty acids now that they are in the blood stream. The type of exercise doesn't matter too much, but I have read that above a heart rate of 130 your body turns to carbs for fuel. I usually try to keep it to around 130 for an extended period of cardio (Even though that HR seems rather low)
 
how high do your heart rate get?? i have a friend when he is doing a show he is not going over 130ps

i have tried that and i never got in shape did 1 hour a day.
now i am doing more like 155-180ps this get me to lose weight at 50min a day on the stepmaster
