I read a doctor's recommendation for 2grams of LCLT/PLC/ALCAR each as one of the most important supplements you can take. Apparently he mentioned it would be great to take all 3 as all forms have different tissue predlilection.
Now, for those who don't know...these 3 forms of Carnitine are:
L-Carnitine L-Tartate
Propionyl-L Carnitine
Acetyl-L Carnitine
Is it really necessary to take a combination of the three? Is there one that is best or preferred? I did a lot of reading on this tonight and have some notes but I am really hoping some carnitine gurus can chime in and explain the differences between the carnitines and why/which is most important.
Theres also Carnitine Fumarate and GPLC(Glycine Propionyl L Carnitine) which is in Mike Arnold's insulin protocol for pre workout N.O. boosting effects.
From what I have read, LCLT upregulates androgen receptors? Some say PLCAR is the only carnitine that can upregulate muscle carnitine stores, while combating fatigue and may increase natural energy.
I know of course that there is Synthetine as well. That's fine to have advocates of that on this board but I am really hoping some people can come in and lay down the encyclopedia about Carnitine and which is best for us bodybuilders and if the same form is best for those of us who are super health conscious.
