celiac disease

I dont, but I assume that you know you need to avoid gluten like the plague. Avoid oats of all kind too even if it says gluten free.

I had an intestinal biopsy about 4 years back which came back negative. I have a bunch of GI issues, but none related to celiac.

I do, however, have a BB'ing friend that has celiac. It really limits what he can eat, but he does well. He sometimes runs into a flare up due to quality control issues. If a speck of gluten touches his stuff, it's game over. Pretty crazy.

yeah I was diagnosed by an upper endoscopy...really limits what you can eat

I don't have Celiac disease but I do have gluten induced, severe IBS. I stick to rice, beans, quinoa, potatoes/sweet potatoes and fruits/veggies for most carb sources. I tend to eat more fat to get my calories in. Read labels as there are a lot products with gluten added. Oats, as mentioned tend to get cross contamination during processing on machinery equipment.

Not only that, but oats contain a protein called Avenin. Similar to gluten. Thats the trick companies use to tell you "gluten free oats" True, they get rid of the cross contamination but oats are bad for us anyways. Not all of us, but a good portion of us. And just like with gluten, the problem is that a lot of people don't present evident symptoms until later in life after decades of reduced nutrient absorption.

hmmmmm...I've been eating Quaker Gluten Free Oatmeal....I wonder if this is in it??

I was diagnosed approx. 9 years ago...I've read more food labels than I've watched porn lol

Celiac Disease is an auto-immune disorder where gluten triggers the body to attack itself. It destroys the villi in the gut, which can lead to severe vitamin deficiencies. You need to restore the length of the villi and bust your immune system , once you have restored your villi length you should be able to eat some gluten.

I had some pre workout today that must have had some gluten in it as I'm suffering right now...cramps, lethargy, foggy headed, running back and forth to the bathroom....brutal

Remember this: AVOID WHEAT, BARLEY, RYE AND OATS. Avoid them like the plague. All of those and all its derivatives. There is no such thing as gluten free oats. As I explained, the toxic protein in oats is not called gluten, is called avenin. It will cause similar problems to gluten.

And also EVERYBODY is affected by gluten. The fact that a lot of people never had a problem or don't present symptoms, does not mean that they're not getting gluten damage in the GI tract. Unknowingly, their bodies absorb less and less micronutrients as years go by and suddenly something breaks from a certain specific nutrient deficiency. A chronic disease is developed. Of course theres countless of other reasons to develop a chronic disease but this is just one of the processes in which gluten damage is involved.

Don`t use any supplements containing GMOs, additives, sugar, artificial sweeteners, flavors or colors, and many more ingredients we cannot even pronounce.

Not everybody is effected. Experts estimate that about 1% of Americans have celiac disease. The condition, caused by an abnormal immune response to gluten. For people with celiac disease, a gluten-free diet is essential. But for others, a gluten-free diet can lack vitamins, minerals, and fiber.

Gluten itself doesn’t offer special nutritional benefits. But the many whole grains that contain gluten do. They’re rich in vitamins and minerals, such as B vitamins and iron, as well as fiber. Studies show that whole grain foods, as part of a healthy diet, may help lower risk of heart disease, type-2 diabetes, and some forms of cancer.

The only way to accurately determine Gluten tolerance is an intestinal biopsy. Because like I said, many humans do not present symptoms from gluten damage until later in life when it is too late to reverse the chronic damage. Celiac is one of the many results from gluten damage. It is true about certain nutrients in whole grains but those nutrients can perfectly be obtained from other sources. After all, due to decades of farming techniques the food grown in the USA severely lack of essential nutrients anyways. A healthy diet PLUS supplements is imperative for optimal health.

Is a genetically predisposed, autoimmune disorder, so if you don`t have it than you don`t have to worry eating grains containing gluten.

Yes, the farming techniques is a problem and the effects of pollution. Climate changes are visible in the last decades , electromagnetic (increased 400 million times since 1900, the rampant growth in the past two decades, with the development of mobile telephony, GMS antennas), nuclear fuel combustion, etc, with negative effects on body plasma, plants, fruits and even humans. The body plasma is having a crucial role in preserving the balance of concentration of minerals, vitamins, and living compounds (trepinene, hulls, etc) of fruits. As first example, the concentration of iron / 100 grams spinach 50 years ago was 150mg, nowadays because the pollution, 100 grams spinach has 2mg of iron.

but that's the tough part...restoring that villi.

The gut flora is a major player of our immune system, which is our body's natural defense system that keeps you healthy. The health of our body is largely tied into the health of our gut, and it's hard to have one be healthy if the other is not.

One of the reasons why our gut has so much influence on our health has to do with the 100 trillion bacteria--about three pounds worth--that line our intestinal tract. This is an extremely complex living system that aggressively protects our body from outside offenders.

You need to restore the integrity of your gut lining by providing your body with the necessary building blocks needed for healthy enterocyte reproduction, and restoring balance to your gut flora.

You need to consume fermented products, every day. If you want to eat oat, you need to pre ferment the oat, don`t ever eat raw oats, no one should eat raw grains.

thank you for the information...i knew you guys would have a wealth of it!! After doing some more research I've concluded that I think I also have a leaky gut...all the classic symptoms

as of today I am going to cut out Gluten free oats and see if it makes a difference. Would substituting with a gluten free bagel be an option?
