I was into bodybuilding in the 80's but due to his limited competitive time and being European he's one that got by me. I would have remembered the hair and the outfit!

No. He took 6th in the 1996 Nationals. He got his pro card at the 1998 North American Championships...Light Heavyweight and Overall winner!

That was Dorian's first Olympia. He saw the same thing and definitely put the work in to build one of the best backs ever!
There's a reason why Lee beat Arnold's record and was the first man to win 8 Mr. Olympia titles!! Ronnie tied Lee's record.

I started following competitive BB the year Ronnie won so I did not get to see any of the Haney and then Yates era unfold. With the net of course I can now catch up but when your 15 and its 1998 there was not much you could dig up without knowing someone tossing their mag collection.

I did use a picture of Lee for a school project in I think 7th grade. It was hanging on the wall in the hallway and of course you can imagine the comments lol.
