cheap TENS unit for knee pain

Come on bro why bother doing 1 rep if your knees ache ?
Took the words right out of my mouth
Watch your feet shift as you squat up
You are dumping a ton of tension off your muscles
And where does it go you ask?
Your ligaments and tendons
 
That’s a pretty wide stance for a squat. Do you want to focus on quads or are you trying to just build your ass or are you just wanting to move weight? If you have bad knees take all that weight off and actually do a full slow controlled squat. I have found you can most definitely build quads with lighter weight with 20/30 reps. I prefer ass to grass but that’s just me. Iv had 7 knee joint reconstructions and I can squat pain free if I keep the weight down. I’ll do a few heavy 10-15 rep sets occasionally if I’m feeling perky but it’s not needed to grow
 
That foot width is the only way I can squat without making it a good morning.

The goal was strength/power, not muscle size.

And that stance isn't great for hitting glutes anyways.

But I haven't done squats consistently for ten years.

It's still rare to this day that I really train them.

That video was taken after starting up squats again for the first time in a decade, just a couple months prior

Used to try to do a more narrow stance back in the day, but it always turned into a good morning

Found that I could squat with a straight back if I kept a wide stance with toes pointing out


Anyways I'm not interested in quad size anymore. Just training for athletic performance now. Still want some calves and glutes for the aesthetics but don't care about big quads. Just want fast and powerful quads for football and regular life functionality
 
I’m the same way. Warming up with a bar hurts, but once I get 2.5-3 plates on there they feel pretty good

maybe I’m just lucky that I don’t experience knee pain but I wouldn’t be going heavier if warming up with the bar was painful

It’s not so much painful, just creaky old man knees that need a lot of warming up
