Tenny, I had a very similar situation, even looked similar about 18 months ago and it was just a bit of tissue damage. It was sore for a few weeks espcially when I would push hand together in a prayer like position.
I rested it, iced it etc and it healed within a month good as new. If you don't see significant improvement in the next few days go see a doctor and get it diagnosed. I have also recently had great results via something called dry needling from a physio which is similar to accupuncture needles but bigger which in the right hand bring inflamation down very quickly. This technique helped me heal within a month of a medial meniscus injury that generally requires surgery.
Don't stress yourself out by what you suppose. It might not be too bad.
