Im gettin tired of the same old blah blah blah ... tuna, chicken, PB, Cottage Cheese.....

I made a concoxion of marinara sauce to soak 6 pieces of chicken breasts in .... DAMN WAS IT GOOD!!!!!

Than i got to thinking what i used .... Ketcup, A1 sauce, BBQ sauce, Montreal steak seasoning, onion chips, and some smokey seasoning ..... a SHITLOAD of sodium is what made my chicken taste good .....

Anyone know of a HEALTHY marinara sauce i could soak my chicken and not add a bunch of salt????? Ya know ... keep it healthy?
 
As long as it's not "too much" salt, what's wrong with salt. IMHO, it's a negelected element. I get terrible cramps if I cut it out completely - remember the heart is a muscle also.

I'd be more concerned with all the sugar and corn syrup from all that crap.
 
I could cover chicken in Twix bars and mesquite kruncher potato chips, and it would still taste like ass to me

I hear ya...I have had to take a break from just plain chicken boobies.

I cannot stand the texture anymore...I have to mix small bits of it up inton burritos, stirfry and a host of other things.
 
I'm on a budget so I just grab the frozen chicken tenderloins at Costco.

When I go to bed, I put the entire bag of chicken in a crock pot with two jars of salsa/sauce in there. In the morning, I put all the chicken into a container. For around 20 bucks (incuding sauces), I get ~50 great tasting chicken tenderloins with minimal work.

I will switch up the salsa so it always has a different taste. Makes it easier to choke down so much chicken each week....

That is my biggest expense when I visit my friend in Portland - stopping by Trader Joe's and picking up all the different sauces.

I know that I take in more sodium because of this, but I just drink more water. That should help until I can start putting more money towards my food budget.
 
one of my favorite ways to fix it is with a little olive oil in frying pan get that warm, brown chicken breasts cut up on both sides, then add a little garlic, mustard and some teryaki marinade turn the heat down and cook for about 15 min it is really good and you can get low sodium teryaki. tank...

Now, how much water should i be intaking? I always hit a gallon on the nose, and more often than not go beyond or wayy beyond that amount. (Maybe another liter or 2)

Another point as im typing ... im eating my egg whites and in order to do that i usually cover in salsa (sometimes put them in tortilla rolls and FF sour cream) awesome. Well, im getting kinda burned out on salsa, so i soaked the eggs in ketchup.... too much salt there or no?
 
don't worry about the salt from ketchup .. the high fructose corn syrup found in ketchup and myriad other sauces is just about the worst thing you can put in your body

Aussie chicken

INGREDIENTS:
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - pounded to 1/2 inch thickness
2 teaspoons seasoning salt
6 slices bacon, cut in half
1/2 cup prepared mustard
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
2 cups shredded Colby-Monterey Jack cheese
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

DIRECTIONS:
Rub the chicken breasts with the seasoning salt, cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until crisp. Set aside.
In a medium bowl, combine the mustard, honey, corn syrup, mayonnaise. Remove half of sauce, cover to serve later.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the breasts in the skillet and saute for 3 to 5 minutes per side, or until browned. Remove from skillet and place the breasts into a 9x13 inch baking dish. Apply the honey mustard sauce to each breast, then layer each breast with mushrooms and bacon. Sprinkle top with shredded cheese.
Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and chicken juices run clear. Garnish with parsley and serve with the reserved honey mustard sauce.
 
Chicken Marsala....
put 3-4 breasts in a skilliet
1/2 cup white wine or marsala wine
1/2 cup EV Olive Oil
1 small can portabella mushrooms
1 potato cut into chips
salt/pepper
1 tbsp garlic

cook until chicken is done. Add wine/olive oil if evaporating. Awesome dish!

Just kiddin. I put two heaping teaspoons of Dill Relish in with white tuna packed in water!!

I get the same costco chicken you were talking about boil 2 or 3 bagz. then soak in italian dressing, chuck in a few mushroomz MMMMMM good :D or maybe boil the chicken get some rice paper, bean thread, cukez, brocholi(sp) sproughtz (fudge i cannot speel :eek: ) then make some nice spring rolls **broken link removed**
after eating protein barz, protien drinkz the low carb kind anything taste good though
