Take it in the morning and take it in the evening

If it works the way I feel it will work with you....youll start to get a "ahhh no big deal....I can roll with it" kind of attitude after about a week

It really is an amazing supplement (for more than just anxiety)

Doggcrapp mentioned a great one. I use Holy basil that really helps also clears my acne. Problem with benzos it will lower cortisol then when your withdrawing it will spike it again making you depend on them. Adaptogen herbs I never had this problem with them. Good luck

I have been struggling with major anxiety this past year. I've tried Effexor, Wellbutrin, and now I have Ativan but I hate using benzos and relying on them.

I go to work, come home, change, go lift. Then as the evening comes, I get super anxious. I can't work on school, relax, or just watch TV. It sucks. I try to focus on other things but I just sit and worry.

I used to not be like this. Relaxing is impossible

Stop looking in a pill. Go see a shrink and talk it out. Cut out the majority of stimulants (no coffee past noon).

You will get better results speaking to a therapist then relying strictly on medication.

Been there, done that.

When do you take it? Do you specifically take it for anxiety reduction or merely as an adaptogen? I don't think anything beats PS in the AM for cortisol. I already use that (actually I take it with LEF Cognitex).

I actually don't take it...yet. I just ordered it today after this thread. I looked up the benefits on examine.com and have no idea how I overlooked this supplement.

Hard to get sun where I am at. 10,000iu Vit D daily in the winter months is mandatory.

Oh, I do the same. I just meant with summer coming up.

Also, just being outside more in general seems to have a positive effect on me in general
 
Staying inside doesn't help panic attacks. Get out house, sun. Caffeine knot good ether. Bright light to .
 
Anxiety is a slippery slope. My heart goes out to you and wish you get a hold of it quickly. Maybe eliminating all stimulates and incorporating some type of meditation for now. Glycine under the tongue might help too.
 
KSM-66 or sensoril ashwaganda are you top two choices. Sensoril more so for anxiety and stress. KSM-66 for performance. But both will work

I really like l theanine at 300mg per day, that and ashgwanda really help me alot with my anxiety

I would try meditation and see how that works before you get hooked on something like I did.

yeah bro you cant just cut the dose in half like that. Your brain is literally addicted to it. It secretes hormones and neurotransmitters accordingly with what your putting in your body every day. If you cut any of those drugs of course you will have a void there of neurotransmitters and it will be a serious mess. Can you ever quit them? ABSOLUTELY. It would take a VERY LONG TIME, but is possible. The first thing you would have to do is go to a naturopathic doctor, IF they are licensed and certified in your state. If theyre not, you could see maybe a nutritionist, although is not the same. But what Im trying to say, you MUST make sure first that all the bad foods are completely eliminated from your diet, then ALL the essential nutrients are there in your diet every single day in form of food plus supplements, and then the specialist will have to determine on top that diet and supplements, how much more of certain nutrients you would need to start pumping in to promote that brain health. THEN, and ONLY THEN, you could start decreasing the drugs, EXTREMELY slowly. Like if you're taking for example 150/75 a day, cut down to 149/74 in a week or even every two weeks and so on 1mg each week or every two weeks. If by any chance you feel any negative change in your brain, you could maintain that dose for an extra week. However, all of this HAS to be supervised by a doctor. Also, you WILL feel different. Chemically you are right now a different person than you were before the pills, and you would be a different person leaving the pills. But is possible.

Don't just settle... Effexor is THE hardest drug in that class to taper off of. It has a very short half life in the body which leads to those rapid withdrawal symptoms.

One trick is to switch to Prozac for a few weeks. The half life is measured in DAYS. Now you can taper down without going off the deep end.

Or, if that option is not available, the harder way is to literally open up the capsule and discard a measured number of the pellets. This way, you can make the taper as gradual as you need it to be. It just takes a lot more effort.

I've done this before. I finally got off that ride a few months ago. I had been on those meds for 6 or 7 years.

Ok I will look into this myself then. I've actually switched to powder for a few things due to it being cheaper. I'll see what I come up with.
