Choice of protien

I may get talked to like an idiot but oh well :headbang:

I am sure I am not the only one who has been or is in a similar situation.

Situation
I currently purchase chicken and ground beef as the solid protiens in my diet. However, the price of extra lean beef has increased drastically and is taking a toll on my wallet. I could down grade to a fatter ground beef (87/13) but I believe this is too fatty.

However, chicken is still at a great price and pork loins/chops are cheap also.

Now would you downgrade in the quality of meat to pork?
Would you sacrafice the fat content and go with the higher fat ground beef?
Would you "double up" on chicken breast?

This is a question that I am curious as too what sort of choices you all make when faced with somethign like this.

Thank you in advance.

Do you really think it's going to make that much difference?

Well

Do you really think it's going to make that much difference?

I honestly think he does think that.....I wish he wouldnt but some are so obsessed with this that it runs their life to the point of ruining everything in their future and creates a path of destruction with everyone that comes into contact with said person........but dont read too much into it...not anyone specifically I am referring to......but all over protein....sad......all could be changed with the use of LBAs

LOL

boneless skinless chicken breast & eggwhites.. sometimes tuna..

On weekends when I go out and eat with my GF I usually order some type of steak...

Is there a way to drink egg whites without cooking them? I have heard that pasteurizing kills the biotin, but I still get massive gas from the pasteurized stuff even with digestive aids like betaine and good bacteria.

I wish I could find a way to drink them because they make a great base for a protein shake. Better than water and no carbs like milk.

Chicken Breasts

For me chicken breasts are most affordable, so that's what I eat the majority of.

Here in Tokyo at my local restaurant supply market --
Per 100 grams of meat:

Chicken Boneless Breasts: 49 yen
Thin sliced pork: 89 yen
Thin pork chops: 128 yen
Sirloin: 158 yen
Flank, block: 89 yen

* 80 yen to 1 USD now.

I have a client in Iceland that eats a lot of whale steak. Apparently it's pretty lean. I'm not sure on cost, but I would guess it's fairly cheap in Iceland.

yea.....i herd about this

i guess the way it works
is they have whale farms

true......saw it on discovery channel

Horse meat is very lean and packed with protein , trouble is you would have to butcher it yourself as last i checked it was against the law in the US. But i know you can get old used race horses cheap !! and hell have the juice comes in the meat !!:D

my o2

Well there ya go... Just buy the gun and take it into the supermarket and problem solved!! Everyones happy
lmao! i eat a lot of eggs and chicken breast. to switch it up i eat ground turkey or lean beef. works well for me...

you can usually find family or bulk packages of GB thats around 90/10 for a very good price (check Costco or local meat markets). If you drain the fat and rinse the meat you'll be left with very lean gb...

Best Protein come from

1.Whey Isolate
2.EGGS

I would make those 2 my main protein source if i was you.

Beef in third
Chiken
fish...

I mix it up for protein, but this is typical

first meal includes: whey/LBAs,
2nd: GF-bison, FR-whole eggs,
3rd whey/LBA
4th chicken, roughy or a pound of precooked/peeled shrimp
5th whey/LBA
6th beef flank steak, salmon or roughy or chicken
7th whey/lba

damn I am hungry!

I buy all my meat at Costco. Love there meat!!!

( but I work for them to so I am biased )

Good point . Costco is great for trimmimg off fat too. You pay only for the beef and not the fat!
Small town..I follow the sales. London broil 1.97lbs for the week when the sale changes that shit goes up and then top sirlion drops down to 2.99 lbs. Follow the sales. Best way to go.

I think you you should choose a direction first, I believe you have one of two options A. Eat to maximize musle while minimizing fat gain or B. Eat to maximize fat loss while minimizing muscle loss. Once you decide on one of the two options your choice should be easier.

?????Really???:eek::eek:Can you please explain???

Whey Isolate and EGGS Contain all the 21 Amino Acids family.

Both are the most complete Protein and easy digestible.

No other protein source(even beef) contain all the 21 amino acids.

I love 93% Ground beef i eat it on a daily basis if i can, but EGGS and Whey Isolate are superior in quality.

you can eat what you want basically, but personnally i Make Whey isolate and EGGS my main protein meals + some beef.

My main sources are eggs , ground beef . I like chicken , but it's just so dry and bland . Whole grain pasta is also another good food I like .
