claritin/loratadine and other antihistamines

i have been suffering from very bad allergies. mainly burning/itching eyes and hives/itching. as of late my life has been nothing short of hell because of this. claritin takes these away for me. i have been steering away from antihistamines because of the fear of them stripping gains. pretty sure benadryl drops gh significantly. i recently started using claritin again. i was wondering if certain antihistamines negatively effect my bodybuilding in any way. i am currently "on" and allergic responses seem to be amplified for me while on.


do any of you guys use antihistamines regularly and how have your experiences with them been.

I stay on cetirizine (Zyrtec) year-round, as I have severe allergies to both dust in the winter and pollens in the summer. Frankly I could give a damn about it impacting my gains. It's a quality of life decision for me. I think not being able to eat or lift because I feel like hell from allergies impacts gains much more than an antihistamine ever could.

That being said, if I could control my allergies without medication, I'd much rather do that than take drugs all the time. I just don't know how. :che:ky-sm

I've never heard that Benadryl reduces GH , I have heard that it causes you to use Ephedrine a little longer before the body builds a tolerance to it or somthing along those lines.

Let me ask you , does the shitty feeling affect your training and eating , I know it kills mine , I'd rather risk a little loss of effect from the gear and be able to train and take advantage of what is their than feel like shit and not eat right or train and loose all of what your taking

Most of my allergies are nasal type symptoms,,,stuffy nose,,,sneezing,,,Fluticasone Propionate has been the best thing I have ever used and Ive not experienced any negatives from its use,besides its bad taste after I spray it in my nosrtils.

this is my third day i am on 10mg of loratadine and all my hives and eye allergies are gone and i feel great. i am going to stick with this for some time. are there any toxicity issues with long term use? and is loratadine ok to take with orals?

allergies have really been affecting my life in a negative way. looks like i'm going to start taking antihistamines regularly. i trained today and didn't feel anything wrong. had a sick pump more than usual actually.

Fluticasone Propionate has been the best thing I have ever used

i use this too (Flonase is a brand name). works great.

I have horrible allergies and the best combo for me is Loratadine and Flonase daily. The Flonase I use in the am and skip evening, so only half dose, and it's enough with the claratin. Keeps me dry and no symptoms whatsoever.
