His "comeback" return to bodybuilding is now in classic physique, 3 weeks out.

Guess he decided chasing the mass class title, with his genes, wasn't the smartest game to play, health and longevity wise. I agree. You can do classic without absolutely redlining your health into the dirt....

Is it hard for some of these guys to make weight in classic?

A lot might grow out of the division just sheerly due to their genetics.

Possibly some guys, but not his. He's not very tall either. 5'7, contest weight in prior shows was 215-210lb. He'll be scaled down now. Not hitting that 230 off season weight.

I don't care what anyone says, I'm 6 foot and hit 230lbs in winter with ease. But I'm soft and don't like the look or the feel. Winded and unhealthy. At 5'7, 230 is a lot of weight to carry around imo. For a 6 foot guy to hit 240-250, you need to be eating high volume and laboriously. Not for me... I get why guys are doing classic.

I don’t think he has a classic structure n muscle is very dense n round to match the current ‘classic’ look

Not classic at all. Not hating, just speaking facts.

Not sure why people are saying "not classic", fine for the division he may not look classic but isn't classic just bodybuilding with a weight cap?

Then if he makes weight he'll be good to go..
Their critique is (without raw size) he lacks the aesthetic and flow of "golden Era" classic physique I think.

To me, that's really highly influenced by genetics though.

He's a little dude though. He's 5'7 and no crazy African genetics with tiny joints and perfect round popping muscle bellies and/or optimal insertions. Just reality. At that lower weight, he looks as good as he's going to aesthetic wise... That's in no way racist. I think it's common knowledge African Americans generally have better genetics for bodybuilding (and all sports, ever, lol).

he'll have to weigh in at 187 or so...

he's gonna have to drop a lot of quality mass for that to happen..

I just don't see it. the classic physique class is rapidly becoming very stacked.

IMO, he's in kinda a 'bodybuilding no man's land'

too tall to be 212... not good enough genetics to be in open... not good enough lines to be in classic

kinda like Aaron Clark and Milan Sadek tbh

I feel like his delts and arms are overpowering everything else. It’s amazing how fast he came back

Yeah that's what I figured - more about the "look" than the actual judgement.

He hasn't done shit for a bit. Lost weight. He's getting back into it now. So he didn't really have to "cut down" much at all. Just get show ready.

it hasn't been that long that he's been out tho...right?

muscle memory + decent amount of drugs = puff right back up to size

Ya, he didn't have to do much. Point is, there was no intense cutting process to whittle away at a bunch off lean mass. He'd stopped the more intensive open class off-season eating and drug routine and had lost a good deal already.

He was a great amateur, but he got too much publicity for someone without elite genetics. I think he should compete at 212 pounds.

I do not agree with Milan, he certainly did well at 212 pounds but he was not evaluated fairly, and he certainly will do well in the open.

The Dallas thing hit him hard. They were friends. He had a baby, etc. Life happens. I mean the reward vs sacrifice is not always there in this sport. He certainly was never going to be a top competitor in open. This made sense for health, longevity and competition. He still has his sponsorship.

He's getting or got a college degree recently. He's realizing there needs to be a plan after bodybuilding - a career option.

Did he stop lifting weights entirely and then just recently come back?
