Coffee Makers

I posted this on another board, but thought I'd go ahead and post this here, too. My wife and I need to buy a new coffee maker. Our old one is a Cuisinart grind and brew which is over 10yrs old and just doesn't brew a good cup of coffee anymore. We really like having a grind and brew coffee maker and want to get another one but with a burr grinder this time instead of a blade grinder. We have been looking at and are thinking about getting either a Breville Grind Control, Cuisinart Burr Grind, or a Capresso Coffee Team coffee maker. Anyone have any experience with either of these coffee makers or have recommendations for any others for us to look at?

The wife and I love our coffee. We've owned a multitude of different coffee makers over the years but after a good friend introduced us to a well made French press, we never went back to a machine. We do grind our coffee prior to each press.

I've also been brought up drinking coffee. For years I used this cafetaria that you put on the stove and brews a nice coffee, a bit on the watery side. A year ago I got a 100 euro machine from delonghi. Really satisfied, I do grind my own coffee thought, there is a learning curve to the perfect grind and press of the powder but it does make a tasty espresso.

Used french press for years, love the flavor, and still use it but my wife and I wanted the option of having a timer because we get up at 3am. I also wanted an ice coffee option/

We have an older model of this and it's been awesome. Zero complaints.

edit, I read you wanted a built in grinder. I don't have experience with machines that do that but we have a small separate one we use for either the press or machine

aeropress

I use an aeropress. It makes a perfect cup of coffee. aeropressinc.com
Use the paper filters which for me reduces the acidity in the coffee. Or
use a reusable stainless steel filter. I also use an electric kettle which
turns off when the water reaches the correct temperature. Those two
things (and good quality beans, which we grind ourselves) will give you
the perfect cup of coffee . . . my opinion.

Moka coffee, every morning for the past 30 years...
Great tasting flavorful coffee, consistent and not watery...
I actually look forward to waking up for this.

Definitely, that has been my go to before buying the espresso machine. Moka delivers some proper strong coffee it packs a punch and like you mentioned not watery.

Moka is for sure what I would go back to. I even have a micro Moka that does one single espresso.

Grind or no grind

Hey guys do you think that grinding your own coffee gives it more potency?

Well for Christmas my wife and I got a Breville Control Grind and Brew coffee maker. So far I really like this coffee maker. It has a big digital screen on it's front that and lets you select the size of the grind from fine to course, as well as the volume and strength of coffee to brew. You just select how much coffee you want to brew and it automatically grinds the right amount of beans for that amount of coffee and brews it to your specifications. You can also use a yeti travel mug in place of the carafe if you want a quick mug of coffee to go. Most importantly it makes a good cup of coffee. I'm not saying that it makes a better cup of coffee than a French press or an espresso machine will but it is fast, convenient, and can brew from one to twelve cups of coffee.

Everything but that. Making coffee complicated and expensive while it's so easy.

Invest in some nice blends and high quality coffee.

Nespresso is for special occasions. I love old school French press and use that most often.

Get a Nespresso. It’s life changing :)

Just bought my mother a Nespresso and now I know why she wanted it. It is indeed a game changer. French Press also :D
