College gym equipment for sale?

Does anyone know the name of this website that had fairly good deals on selling gym equipment? I saw it posted on here or another bodybuilding forum a while back and someone bought equipment and made a gym for himself or something. I really need to know the website...they sell gym equipment to colleges i believe or something along those lines. Thank you all.

Anyone have experience with this website? And are the machines really $1-3k?? Like shit... just dont understand why they would be that high. The db racks are pretty nice though, $1000 for a pair of all dumbbells from 5-120 lbs and the racks with it.

LOL..Big John Mcarthy has a promo spot on their website because he bought all his stuff from them for his gym. If you google "gym for sale" a bunch of used equipment websites pop up. There are some deals out there but remember you have to pay for shipping (unless stated otherwise).

Gym owner where I workout gets first dibs on his alma maters gym equipment every time they change out, all top brand stuff too, Hammer Strength, Nautilus etc. at a really cheap price too.

There are a lot of used equipment warehouse type places here that usually have a very large supply of used equipment to choose from and allow you to purchase in packages. Have to be careful of condition and future ability to repair/service and as stated before shipping is gonna be expensive due to the size and weight.

Try strength and power over at Iron addicts forum. He is a welder and a powder lifter and would make you an exact replica of whatever you want for much cheaper. He has pics up.

Check out S n P on the iron attics forum. He can make you a customized replica of anything for half the price. He's a power lifter. Makes racks any way you want them.

Craigslist has some great deals.. Haven't heard of many of those other ones. I'll have to give a look.

Plus for things like an Olympic bench, If you know a welder you can make one fairly inexpensively

I found the equipment on this site overpriced with very expensive shipping.
Remember all these used equip dealers pay about 10 cents on the dollar when they buy it. I know this, I owned a large fitness center for 15 years and contsantly updated the equipment.

So when you see a Hammer Strength Incline Chest Press (plate loaded) for
$1,200 plus $300 for shipping. They paid $250 for it. It used to kill me when I had to sell off equipment. Really shop, Craig's List, etc.

I was fortunate. Because I had been in the business for so long and having some good contacts, I was able to put my home gym together for about $25,000 where that same equipment would normally go for $60,000+.
A combination of Legend Equipment (check them out - good stuff), Hammer and a few odd ball pieces (sissy squat, etc). My 2200 sf garage in filled to the brim with equipment. Best money I ever spent.
