Are you on metoprolol tartrate or succinate? Tartrate is dosed 2x daily and succinate just 1x daily.
Either way, EOD dosing isn't optimal.
Succinate does have mortality benefits (clinical research evidence) for heart failure patients, FWIW.
What are your reasons for coming off the drug? If it's helping control your BP without sides I see no reason to. Should you decide to come off...you should first up the cardio and control your diet extremely-well beforehand, so you can eliminate any rise in BP due to those variables after.
Good luck...and as others said...go see a cardiologist if you want specific care.
My plan consists of upping the cardio, dropping some weight and staying more on point with nutrition. But I kind of dabbled with lowering the dose prior to getting my cards in order first. Idk why. I'm in the midst of some schedule changes at work and getting some finances in order prior to affording re-upping my gym membership.
I want to get off the drug just for the sake of being completely natural. I don't like the idea of being dependent on a pharmaceutical. In the past I used to like to intermittently fast and can't really do this while taking this drug. I juice a lot of fruits and veggies and things like beets lately have me feeling like my BP drops too low with both the beet product and the BP med.
Maybe I should see a cardiologist. It couldn't hurt. I'm going to start with my new PCP and take it from there and see what he says about the cardiologist.
