Confused over rice weight

I'm slightly confused of the cooked/raw weights of rice, so I normally just buy them 2min microwave rice pouches, there 250g an = 80g carb

Now iv switched to dry rice and I'm boiling it in pan, the weights vs carbs are different

The back of the pack is confusing as its in dry weight, but iv checked my fitness pal app, weight watchers app an Google (just to be sure) an they are telling me 240g cooked rice is 50g carb, why would it be so different then the microwave rice?

More to the point, I want 20g of carbs using the pan cook rice is it 100g of rice?

Weigh it raw. Most rice( the jasmine rice I use for example ) - 50g of dry weighted rice, is 45g carbs.

So for example, I use a rice cooker and cook 800g at a time. this is 16 servings.

As long as the weight dry is accurate(use a scale obviously), then when it's finished, you deduct the weight of the container(in my case the rice cooker pot weights 336g), and then divide the remaining amount by 16(the number of servings).

Does that make sense?

If you are cooking it one serving at a time you're wasting time, but, just weight one serving(or half a serving or whatever you need) raw, and whatever the cooked weight is really doesn't matter.

Yeah makes sense I'll have to try it next time I cook it, already made a load an unsure how much I should be eating, iv made brown basmati.

Also the weight would we different depending on how you cook it

For example, I do the 1cup rice 1cup water trick which gives you quite firm dry rice but my girl just fills the pan with water an drains it once it's cooked, so it's really wet an soggy so I recon you would need more rice on your plate to make the same amount of carbs that way

I'll just have to cook 100g dry an see what it ways when cooked

Anyone give me an idea of how much cooked rice will give me 20 carb?

Edit: never mind.

you have to weigh each grain individually whenever you switch to a new type of rice.

Doesn't the package tell you how to make the rice and the nutritional facts?

Already got your answer dude. Weigh it dry and then weigh it afters its cooked and divide by servings. No one can answer this because it depends on the water used and method of cooking
