Im glad i found this board. I am new. 38 yrs old. Have trainined on and off for many years but mostly off because of family obligations.
Im very confused since i read so many different routines on how a beginner should train from fullbody 3x a week to 2x a week, split, low volume,HIT,high volume.
I just looked at Milo's sight training everyday and seen a beginning routine now i seen the routine here which is completely different then i seen HST and 4 days a week split training the bodypart 2x a week.
Im 5'9" 200 with to much bodyfat 38" waist. Of course i will be doing this naturally.
What should i do. Would a beginner have enough intensity and will to do the routine outlined here or should i do 2 sets just to be safe instead of one?
Everybody says they have the best routine.
Is there a best routine?

Each person is different and their body responds to different workouts.. I do well with training each bosy part once a week. I work out 4 times per week, for an hour at a time. The intensity is very high and I concentrate on getting a great pump more than anything. You will have to go by feel until you find something that works for you. You can also ask someone at your local gym to help you. But make sure you ask someone who knows what they are doing and not just the guy who randomly works behind the desk.

I would like to get big and strong but not get any bigger waisted than i am now.

DIET

What you eat is just as important if not more than how you train.
Make sure you are eating the way you should to obtain your goals. Otherwise you are bangin' your head against the wall in the gym!
