Consistent Pec Strain

The possibilities are endless. Why not go see a specialist?

Well that's what the A.R.T. and doctor's visit will be for. I'll call the A.R.T. places tomorrow as well as my doctor and see if he has a recommendation.

Honestly I want this for my full body lol my pec is pretty bad but I also have nagging shoulder pain, low back pain, a tingle in my spine during some pulling exercises, a strained/stretching feeling in my left quad during certain leg exercises, etc....body is a mess at 23 years old

So in the center? My left side is still a little tender from Friday but luckily no injury occurred.

I'm going to call 2 local A.R.T. places and see what their prices are like, maybe an MRI and a few A.R.T. sessions could help me out because these nagging injuries are starting to hold me back significantly.

Watch out for contrast in MRI's, some can kill thyroid and others can cause Peripheral neuropathy and dystonia, that's HORRIBLE muscle spazms.,

I know people with healthy kidneys that are disabled from the contrast dye.

Sounds like there could also be a possibility of neuropathic pain. I have a family member who has some of the same symptoms and is treated for it with gabapentin. Just a thought, something to look into and ask your Dr about

Geez, something to worry about with MRIs now too.

What exactly makes you think it might be neuropathic? I hope not...also wouldn't the gabapentin only treat the symptoms but not the underlying problem?

Had my first A.R.T. session. PT said I have very tight pec major, pec minor, and lats. Anterior pelvic tilt. He believes the chest spasms could be due to nerve issues. Most of today was evaluation and stretching the chest out with some basic A.R.T. techniques....it was painful but not terribly so. Hopefully continued sessions can help out here long term.

Also find a good deep tissue therapist. Took me over a year to find one that could honestly detect muscle knots in my pecs on her own. She amazed me on the second she'd ask, Does this hurt?", I was surprised i had issues in locations i didnt realize were even there!

Dont expect to train that body part for at least a couple days as it will be greatly sore, but I think you will love the release and flexibility improvements afterwards.

Went to my 2nd A.R.T. guy today. Gotta say his demeaner wasn't as friendly as the first guy but he was definitely more experienced/qualified...seems like he really knows what he's doing so I'll probably stick with this one and just find a way to get there even though he's further away.

Normally if I try to touch my hands behind my back (one over one under) they are 4in apart on 1 side and 6in apart on the other. He went through 4 different things not giving up until I was able to touch on both sides (1 side even overlapping which I haven't been able to do in 4-5 years). Seems like he has numerous methods to fix the issues but emphasized that it's also important we work on my mechanics when lifting because I have long arms and legs and I've got "some muscles working overtime and others slacking off" as he put it.

Also to whoever mentioned a biceps tendon issue, he said the soreness I feel in the anterior delt region is the biceps tendon being inflamed. That's not the pec issue I started this thread about but still it is a minor issue.

He doesn't feel like the pec issue itself stems from a nerve problem even if the little twitch I get may be related to the nerves.

ART guys, GOOD ones are awesome at pinpointing and knowing what the issue is.

Chronic inflammation can develop into tendonosis, BIG clumpy tendon tissue, and/or it can cause these things called MMPs to literally eat away the tendon.

I use to make ICE cups. get foam dixy cups, fill them with water, freeze them. Pull them out, rip of the top part and massage the ice into your delt/pec. Make sure not to keep it still but constantly move it around. This should kill the local inflammation good. Make sure not to burn you skin with the ice or to make it so cold it gets numb.

You still should use some natural anti-inflammatory.

NSAIDs hurt tendons/healing.

Tart red cherry extract and grape seed extract or both REALLY good anti-inflammatory agents.
