Contest Coloring

Just curious, we all have our different compounds to do color for stage and was wanting to hear some ideas. I notice some people have had a fantastic color on stage and wondered besides, Pro-Tan, Jantan, etc, what you use.

My last contest I had a color ppppreeeeeeeetty close to what I wanted but would like more of a deeper color (like a deeper rubyred cause I am so white) and was just wanting different ideas. BTW, I am not a fan of Dream Tan myself, but any suggestions for something different would be apprecaited, no matter how bizzarre.

i prefer several coats of Pro Tan and then put the competition tan over it.. its like a mousse kinda thing....NOT like dream tan

I like ProTan too...

Hott, you just have to experiment with you tan before your show. Just give yourself plenty of time to redo if you don't like it. I would do this several weeks out.

heres is what i did last weekend.....

2 coats of protan poured in a bowl and wiped on with jan tana puffs
2 coats of protan w/ some dyoderm mixed in wiped on
2 coats of jan tana airbrushed at the show
1 coat of pro tan quick bronze hot rubbed on, right before prejudge, this has hot stuff and sheen

At the Jrs I did about 8-9 coats of Protan (with a washcloth, from a bowl) and did a quick rinse in the shower after every 3rd coat or so. Then a final coat of Jan Tana competition tan, and then backstage some Pro-Tan combination bronzer and posing oil.

Thanks Sassy! I know what has worked forme in the past and think I just need one extra coat, just wondered if anyone had some strange brew they make like red dye # 5 or something .... lol!

I know what protan is, but is this the finish you used?

This one seems to be a favorite finisher too...iv used this one and its very thick and does NOT run at all. I just wasnt dark enough before i used it because i used the WRONG applicator for my protan (sponges that soaked up the color instead of putting it on me!)... ya i know im an idiot haha

Yah TP4U - I think that's it. Carla Salotti put it on me, she had it in a little container that would fit in the palm of your hand. I thought for sure it was called Muscle Sheen but that might be it that you posted (Quick Bronze). I can't find anything on the internet that comes in the container like she was using on me.. I'm contacting her now to figure it out.

Does the hot have that tingle factor in it to increase vascularity? I am not a fan of that one, but curious.

The key seems to be just when you think you are dark enough... add another coat.

Also, I use a bronzer the day of the show. I think it looks good and makes you even darker. My problem is that my skin just soaks up posing oil, so it doesn't even look like I have any on and Pam (cooking spray) breaks me out really bad. Any suggestions on what is best?
