Ok guys lately i have been hearing alot about ppl using white bread with pb and jelly backstage and during meeting to fill out and dry up some more.

I have always just used rice cakes with pb and honey on top of em.

Some of you guys who have contest experience and any with this type please chime and tell me your thoughts.

An what you have other ideas share those as well.
 
The difference between PBJ on white bread, and rice cakes with PB and honey is pretty much zero.

Just eat something some carbs (not a lot), some fat, and maybe some sugars. Don't eat a lot, you don't want any stomach distension.

What you eat backstage will not impact your placings - you're either ready, or you're not.

I saw you helping mountain dog this past weekend in cleveland, what did he eat before going on Friday night? He was dry and hard I must say.
 
I find no real reason to eat backstage.. im backstage for what, the 45 mins prior to going on stage? If im not full by then, im not full. The only thing I eat is some candy 5-10 mins before going on stage which just xplodes my veins.

agree w/ Shelby...I don't think there is enough time for any food to impact your look so drastically...but, I like to have whatever leftovers I have and eat them because I'm hungry...for shows here, we usually report to the meeting at 8 a.m...one show I did this year, I didn't get on stage until 2 p.m.!!!

in the past I always stuck to the carb load cycle for contest... I have heard some guys (crazy IMO) eating cans of pie filling at about 3-5am morning of show. IMO its crazy if you have never done it, could be amazing, but could back fire on you and after all that work of dieting, that would suck.

As for before stepping on stage...some red wine in my water bottle 15min before always does wonders.

last show I did, not sure what happend...but even my buddies saw my legs at the night show and said, "WTF happend"...felt like I had two bloated ballons
 
Some "special" brownies eaten about 2 hours prior and a few shots of Vodka, will definitely bring out some sick vascularity, and im not kidding either! :lightbulb::D
 
I have everyone including myself eat a heartyful, large breakfast HOURS BEFORE PJ and from that point on simply bird feed here and there to keep stomach flat. Like people have said the work should be done at that point and focus on keeping a flat mid section so when you hit the front double, you may surprise yourself and get a slight vacuum effect!
