Contest Forum

Who here would like to see a seperate contest forum? I think it would add distinction having a sperate forum like some of the other bodybuilding sites. Upcoming shows could be announced and people could discuss who is competing and those competing in those shows can add to it. From professional, national,and local level. What do you guys think? I think it would compliment this site. Let's do it Big A!

I just think it would make sense to have a seperate "contest" forum as it doens't really fit into the "Uncensored Forum" here as that is more "gossip/news/general topic stuff". Things about shows or athletes can go there in the "Uncensored Forum" but there could be more of a scheduled list and a highlighted area to discuss contest. Also, it doesn't fit in to the "Members Photo" section either. They actually can serve to compliment each other though. People could discuss the shows, who is in them or doing them. I think this would be a great addition to the board.

This was funny but so true....

anyway to have a forum as such you have to have someone willing and able to take the time to keep it updated constantly with new up and coming events. I had this on my site previosuly and it can be very time consuming.

If you have someone with the time though and willing to do it, it can be a great addition to the site. Mine included, everything from bodybuilding, fitness, figure, powerlifting, strongman, both pro & natural levels.

Anyway im for it as long as its not gonna be the same thing up for 5 months and is continuously updated with new and upcoming events. If not it will just be another dead forum.

Well we dont have to make it only a bodybuilding events forum, it can also be for questions regarding contest prep for our bodybuilders getting ready for shows. Also show results for our amateurs, etc...

I'm all for a new contest/event forum. Hopefully it could include events other than bodybuilding aswell like boxing and Mixed Martial Arts contests.

this is also true. Seems to me years ago when i joined this board, people volunteered information alot more freely than they do as of late. There was alot more vets answering questions and trying to help out and giving great advice on anything and everything, now your lucky if you get 4 replies from people with 20 posts to their credit and you just sit there and HOPE for a reply from A vet when a few years ago you knew you would get a bunch of great replies from all our vets.

it would be just as good as the judges forum......which is worthless cause no judges post in there.

For most people I assume this is obviously true. Where ever bodybuilding goes it will go. I agree that the judges forum gets little activity... but I however like to see other people interested in the competition side of things not just getting swole. I didn't get into this sport to get swole. I got into bodybuilding because I needed it to keep me grounded and I was a fan at the time who was interested in the sport. I thought I may be able to get something out of this other than a 19in arm or 405lb bench press. I guess we should just all go to mayhem if we wish to check on shows and who is doing them.

i think if the board had a very high volume of post, it would be a good consideration, but i dont see a problem with questions getting scrolled off the pages for at least 3 days or so. I think it leaves plenty of time for people to respond, etc..

plus like raj stated, you could have a seperate forum for almost all topics.. i like having 1 main forum (as long as its not too busy) that way your questions will get answered by anyone reading... seems to get more hits and replies that way. just me 2 cents anyways...
