Your last statement is very true. I mostly don't have scheduled days off and I'm 46, work 12 hour shift work, work tons of overtime and have a lifestyle that isn't the most conducive to bodybuilding. I may work out 10-14 days before a day off, whilst using an upper/lower split.I'm a bodybuilder and have done it nonstop for 41 years, but somehow it only consumed me for a few of those.
I think longevity in the sport - and life - requires us to spread ourselves out a bit.
I have always had interests outside bodybuilding, albeit ones that didn't clash meaningfully.
In most cases we can let up on the gas a bit, smell the roses, and be no worse off in our performance. Maybe better.
The most successful bodybuilders in my opinion are the ones who learn to integrate bodybuilding into their life, NOT integrate their life into bodybuilding.Would be really interesting to see what new hobbies you get into
I think sometimes as bodybuilders we’re limited occasionally by size but more so mentally because anything that isn’t bodybuilding means it’s taking away from bodybuilding (lie many of us tell ourselves when we’re 5/10/15 years into training for mr 28th best physique in our local gym) as there’s plenty of damn jacked guys who dont necessarily commit to the mental identity of a bodybuilder that do tonnes of stuff outside of anything gym related and still look often better than us “hardcore” guys
I love bodybuilding but I don’t think it HAS to consume us and become our only way to express ourselves unless we want it to
Very interested to follow and hope you do post about it
People say there’s life after bodybuilding but I don’t understand why we can’t have life during bodybuilding no one can guarantee there will be an after
The most successful bodybuilders in my opinion are the ones who learn to integrate bodybuilding into their life, NOT integrate their life into bodybuilding.
Those who know me offline know I have success in business, am into old cars, motorcycles, shooting, and a long list of other things which all come second to my family.
If anyone hasn’t figured out how to do that yet they should. They’ll be a better bodybuilder for it and have more success in all areas of their life.
A deep prep at a high level will shift some of that balance during that phase, but you’re doing it wrong if bodybuilding is your whole life.
Much respect @ChaseIrons for focusing on what matters to you in life. And for coming on here to address all the hate and drama.
You and @TheOtherOne55 should shoot a podcast together for PM Underground.
I was referring to him bringing on @ChaseIrons.You totally nailed it and I fully agree
Very few of us can have true bodybuilding success that actually influences directly into the rest of our life outside of personal achievements (fame and fortune) but many of us bodybuild at the exclusion of sometimes all other areas of our lives in the hope it will pay off because our idols supposedly did but I’m not even sure they all actually did most or at least the successful ones post bodybuilding seemed to have a lot going on behind the scenes
I’d always be game to get on a podcast with @TheOtherOne55 even though I’ve not actually achieved anything of note nor am I even in the same universe as some of you guys in regards to knowledge but I guess I kinda represent a lot of middle of the road guys with my thought processes, trials and errors etc so may be relatable for some guys on here
I think I’ve probably also triggered about half the forum so I’m not too sure how keen they’re gonna be to have me on their podcast but I’m up for it if so![]()

Brother I've been on forums since 2002. A few things I've learned.
1. If any grown man is triggered or upset by something another says on a forum, it's 100% their problem and 0% yours. Actually getting mad about what happens on forums is the most "beta" thing ever .
2. This forum has a pretty good natured mature group. Even if people get annoyed or mad, they will usually still interact and be helpful /respectful in the future. Some times I'll think a forum member hates me and wishes I was dead, then a few weeks later they quote me and help me out with a question. Always feels good to say "oh damn, I know i annoyed him but he still helps me when i need advice"
This is by far the best forum and the only one I take seriously for advice and also perspective, I'll have to watch some of these podcasts!
I wish i could and chatted with him about it outside of here but im banned from YouTube until October at least. I’ve tried making new channels and tried uploading on channels made by other people for me and it all gets taken down within a week. I would hate to get someone else’s channel nuked to have me onI was referring to him bringing on @ChaseIrons.
But earn some stripes and I’m sure he’d consider you in time as well.
That really sucks man, sorry to hear that. Social media ad a whole has gone to hell and fast.I wish i could and chatted with him about it outside of here but im banned from YouTube until October at least. The format could be like one of the late night shows where celebrities read mean tweets about themselves. You totally nailed it and I fully agree

Haters gonna hate. Competition sees them doing well and report them to get them shut down. Less competition that wayWTF is going on here lately? JPs page down.
Why would they ban you? Literally there are 100000 videos on peptides and a lot are from people that sell them. No reason for this shit.
