Finally got the ok from my insurance to go pick this up today. Tonight will be my first time with it. I scored a 27.7 so nearly severe apnea. Hoping this helps me feel more rested and alert

Doc prescribes a cpap; titration of which requires another in person sleep study

Earliest scheduled time is late August...god I hate this system

You can find how to get into provider mode (probably has different names for different machines) to adjust settings yourself if you do some searching online. I really don't see the need for doctor visits - you can view all the data your doctor would view on the machine and know if you're moving in the right direction.

Biggest reason is that insurance will cover a potentially $1k out of pocket expense. It's not a ton in the grand scheme and how important this is but I pay a lot in premiums per month

I've spoken to a few companies online where they've agreed to use my docs script and i can just purchase it

I had to wait 2 months to do an at home sleep study which I had to then repeat as the first one crashed, and now another almost two months to get the machine. If I was a little less aware, I'd give this whole thing the finger, and ignore the apea altogether. Something I'm sure vast majority of people diagnosed with this do, because of how much of a pain insurance and providers can be

thinker, you can easily set your own. I did with the one I just picked up. I had it set a bit strong from the seller and reset after trial and error over a couple nights. There has to be a clinical mode accessible on all of the models, I would presume. I found the instruction on youtube

That’s weird that you would need another sleep study. They just sent me home with this and I set it up myself. Have to go back in 30 days so he can read the machine and adjust if necessary
