Creatine - Anyone else have trouble keeping BP stable on this stuff?

the first EAS creatine from ~1996 must have been sppiked with some balco/duchaine/pa/kneller yet-to-be-discovered anabolic.
stamina, pumps, strength gains, seen in the first 7 days were unreal.. never to be seen again with any other batch of EAS creatine or 'brand'
i also noticed during this time, an increase in hair loss.. i started out with a VERY thick head of hair.. took about 12 years for me to really go bald..
tren did the finishing job on my hair.. i look good bald anyway.. so i'm ok.
but i do believe creatine was the main reason for my initial hair loss.. isnt it now common knowledge that creatine causes hair loss ?
or rather supra-physiological doses of creatine..
the whole idea of 'loading 20 grams of creatine for 7 days' bullshit always sounded like abuse of the product and greed for results to me, I don't know, call it common sense, but any side effects I experienced were always from this early and naive way of use

You won't miss is. Haven't used it since high school before I discovered aas. Back in 2002 it was all the craze then found the real thing. Don't have any studies maybe someone can dig them up but when I had some bad kidney numbers my doctor told me that all her athletes kidney Numbers came back to normal when they ditched it. Threw mine in the dumpster, got retested, and my kidneys were looking good.
Creatine is not kidney toxic. It's training too close to a blood draw that will make kidney tests look worse than they are.

Training too close to blood draw always can make creatinine values elevated. I'm talking about a doctor that spefically told me to drop creatine then get my CBC and urinalysis redone. Once I did all kidney values were much better. She told me my results were the consistent with what she saw in other athletes.

I remember when I first started training with Alex a online, one of the first things he has he do was drop creatine and eat red meat postworkout.

Creatine and MK-677 react the same to me. Bloated, and high blood pressure. Just not worth it.

I will try 2.5 or 3gm a day and see how that goes. Maybe with a meal.

Those first bottles of EAS were fucking killer. In two weeks, I was lifting weight I couldn't believe. I was just out of high school. I'm not joking when I say that. It was never as effective as those first 6 months or so. Maybe it was just that I was young and never juiced or anything.

I mean if people get bloated on 5g, then lowering in half to 2.5g could do the trick. It's literally half the amount, which is a lot less. I just think we should take SOME creatine for the cognitive and ATP benefits. It's not just a mild performance enhancer.

i do well on creatine love it @5g prewo and sometimes during or after when I can remember.

"Regarding predominantly aerobic endurance performance, the increased bodies' creatine stores, seems to amplify favorable physiological adaptations such as: increased plasma volume, glycogen storage, improvements of ventilatory threshold and a possible reduction of oxygen consumption in sub maximal exercise"

and regarding lactic acid buffering, it's especially effective when taken with sodium/potassium phosphates

those extra few reps per set really add up over time

I prefer taurine for its cell swelling effects. 3-5 grams pre with a couple tbls of glycerol
You use the generic vegetable glycerin right? Basically the same thing as glycerol supps and you're saving a ton of money lol

This makes me believe that creatine could possibly have kidney related toxicity.
Since it's certain that the creatine is absorbed into your bloodstream and requires no additional metabolization (whether enzymatic activity in the blood or liver) you can be reasonably sure that whatever amount passes into your bloodstream and is not converted or otherwise used by the body is most certainly eliminated via the kidneys. Whether this causes an undue strain on the kidneys is open to debate. Often kidneys just filtering something out of your blood is not harmful as that is what kidneys do. However, if it does place an undue strain on the kidneys or the substance is somehow toxic to the kidneys themselves, then it's highly likely it will throw off the renal portion of your bloodwork.

Yeah, definitely passes but I wonder if there's also secondary issues such as water retention which in turn higher bp = kidney stress. Depends for some , but I remeember hearing some guys blow up with like 10-20 pounds of water from creatine. Some get it severely.

Man, some of you guys are super sensitive, lol. I do very well on just 5 grams daily. I occasionally forget a day, and occasionally will take 8-10 grams...but mostly 5 grams and do well. The only time i got watery and bloated from it was when it was popular to take like 75-100 grams of sugar with it, 1-2x/d, lol....along with a diet full of excess calories when trying to 'bulk' back in the day. At 45, almost 46, I don't go to any extremes at this point, and do very well with it. I didn't take it for like a decade or more, then reintroduced it back in (off/on) a few years back, and i could tell a big difference. It has so many other benefits as well.

That said, if it fucks you up, like anything else we do, then i agree with eliminating it.

I just do not see that happening. It is by far, the most researched supplement on the planet, it came under extreme pressure many decades back, and if it effected people in that way, ie kidneys, it would have been yanked immediately over the years. In fact, the more research that comes available shows more and more how safe it is to use.

Man I can take the heavy duty anabolics and handle a truckload of androgens like a rock. But my diet is so tight and digestion so steady that almost anything I add or eliminate I can feel. And I can tell you for a fact because I've tried it that when I take 5gms of creatine every morning, within a week to ten days I will have put on 10lbs of not good weight, be bloated with gas, BP increase and only get a week or two of increased reps or poundage before I give up on it.

I'm going to try less per day and split it up. See how that goes. It does have great benefits but like you say, if I can't handle it anymore, I can't. But I haven't given up on it yet. But if I do, I have options.

Thanks , bro. You take 1-2 tablespoons pre workout ?

Man... gallon jug of glycerin for 20$ vs 40-50$ glycerol products with way less servings lmao
I do 2-3 tbl in a big jug of water with 5 grams of taurine, eaa’s, and karboload. I start drinking it on the way to the gym and finish it when my session is over. I also take 1/2 tab of cialis a couple hours pre workout. And ya, a gallon lasts awhile

I do almost that very thing minus the taurine and glycerin.
