hey do you guys feel that taking creatine is even worthwhile while taking gear or is it just a waste of money?
 
I believe that it has its place. But I believe that they way most people take it is a waste of money. There was a study on a board were they felt 1gram post workout worked better than the loading doses and whatnot.
 
not sure if its a "waste" while on, i personally only use creatine in between cycles, 1 gram a day post workout, no front loading, just like Armageddon said...
seems to help me maintain my weight and strength while off...
 
I've got a kilo of Creatine Ethyl Ester on its way :cool:

I'll post if I get any results.
 
Well personally I haven't used creatine while on gear but I have heard plenty of people that do, including pros that say they use creatine while on gear, but you know you can't trust what they say. I really don't know if there is any cross reaction whit using gear and creatine together.

I remember reading a post a while back on professionalbodybuilding that creatine and steroids compete against each other. I am not really up to date with creatine so I cannot say if this info is accurate or not but just is what I remember reading. I would like to personally know if it is benefical to take while on gear.

I only use it between cycles. Since I've been off nearly 1-1/2 years, it's been a long in between :p
 
I take it when I'm on slin. Reason being, it I'm going to jam the protein into the muscles with the slin post workout, I might as well throw some creating in there too(into the muscle).
 
Q I think that's a good idea. I add glutamine also. I know there are many different views out at the moment about this stuff, but it works for me. Or atleast I think it does and thats all that counts for me.
 
Well taking 10 grams of creatine a day only costs .20 cents
a day if you buy it by the kilo from someone I know. :D

So yes it's worth it, and NOT a waste.

Furthermore, and semi scientifically and possible not all scientifically correct in terminology.
Anabolics work by nitrogen retention that increases protein synthesis, through a chemical pathway that is based on mostly on a nitrogen mechanism.
They also have anti-catabolic properties. But mostly anabolic.

Creatine is all anti-catabolic and works by osmosis by hydrating the muscle cells through a hydrogen/glycogen pathway. Not the same mechanism as anabolics. So it has benefits outside of an exogenous hormonal input.

Also with Glutamine since a hormonally optimized skelatal system is at work by assimilating proteins much more effiecently, Glutamine will be made use of effeciently also. Even if the gut uptakes most of it, it works by leaving skelatal muscle glutamine stores freed up by sparing the stores already on the skelatal muscle side of the blood/gut barrier. This side that you as a bodybuilder are most concerned with.

Again none of it is worth it, not gear nor supplements if your daily diet is not optimized.

but you still need to get the creatine into the muscle which is only possible via a insulin producing mechanism or exogenous insulin use. there are no studies showing 10gr is better than 5gr and so on. all the studies compare front loading, etc....i have found this to be true with me using vitargo

follow package instructions...gained 10lbs first month little there after...bottle was gone in about 2 weeks(20gr/day) then 10gr per day for 2 weeks.

tried 2 scoops a day(10gr) for 30 days, same diet,etc...gained 10-11lbs total in 30 days...

tried 1 scoop(5gr) a day for 30 days, gained 8lbs, same diet, etc....

see no real difference...2 lbs is trivial in my book as i didnt feel as bloated and looked better at 5gr per day

everyone is different i will say that, so experiment on yourself and see. try and keep the variables to a minimum if you really want to be fair as well

btw, the best results i ever got from creatine was when i would do 10IU of humulin R before workout and during workout drink a mix of 10gr creatine,40gr whey, and 10 gr of glutamine all mixed in gatorade....used this stuff when i used to play football in college and it kept me solid at 230lbs and strong

I'd try the new Creatine Ethyl Ester (CEE). It's about 4 times more effective and you only need to take 2 or 3 grams.

I use creatine year round. But I use more when off. Certain orals are said to
optomize creatine stores, working outside the steroid receptor.
