I’ve been taking krealkyline creatine, 3 grams preworkout and 3 grams post workout now for several months.
The literature says it reduces myoststin and aids in muscle recovery and growth hypertrophy.
Anyway, i drink 1 1/2 gallons of water per day but i still get cramping in my damn feet and my muscles feel dry and injury prone.
I’ve eliminated everything that i feel can cause these symptoms except for the creatine.
Does anyone else notice this?
My friend who is a hyperresponder to all drugs says he also gets these symptoms from creatine and he feels it leads to injuries.
My bicep insertions feel so dry the past month that I fear a tear. Also my hamstrings. This same friend had both biceps fully detach which is always in the back of my mind.
I’m going to drop the creatine as of today and see if things improve.
Injuries are my biggest fear.
How do you guys feel about creatine?
Is it really that beneficial?

5 grams micronized monohydrate for the last several years.

I feel like it's a useful supplement; one of the most studied in the past few decades.

JJ, I recall you eat a very low fat diet? Every cell in the human body has a fatty acid membrane; cholesterol literally protects cells from the temperature changes that can leave it damaged.

Try adding some salt to your water; it'll hydrate the cells better and maybe eat some more dietary fats? You aren't taking any drugs that would have that effect.

Just my 2 cents.

Elvia told me the same thing on my diet. Haha I’m so damn paranoid about consuming fats. I’ve been taking 5 grams of fish oil 3 times a day lately but that’s it for fats.
I salt my 3 turkey meals.

i use a bunch of different types of creatines to hit the different creatine receptors

as the thinker said, add sea salt.. your sodium levels could be low

I've been taking 5mg monohydrate or a little more for years. I don't think it does THAT much for me but there's really no reason not to take it since it's so cheap. The health benefits make it worth it.

OKay, I’m convinced it was the creative drying me out. I’m training chest, back, and delts now. Every muscle feels less dry and injury prone. I know creatine builds up in your bloodstream but just 2 days without it and my muscles feel so different. I knew this was the case because every time i have run creatine this happens. I’m so relieved! This workout feels awesome!

I been taking 10-15g on work out days only for years with no issues. I also use electrolytes with my shakes.

5-10g CREAPURE creatine monohydrate. All the other creatine salts are a bunch of bullshit.

3-5 grams per day of CREATINE daily is plenty. I see your water intake is good at 1 1/2 gallons per day. If your cramping add some TAURINE.

I used to take taurine religiously. I ran out and was too cheap to buy more. Hahaha 😂

Creating is essentially a hyper hydrator. It allows cells to hold more water than they’re normally able. I don’t see how having increased intracelluar water could possibly cause cramping.....unless the extra hydration through of your electrolyte levels. Extra salt, potassium, and magnesium should help with it if that’s the cause

I get cramping and tight injury prone muscles from steroids. Adding creatine may make it a bit worse, hard to say. But it doesn't obviously cause it for me.

Regarding Kre-Alkalyn, it supposedly has less "sides" than monohydrate but it's 99% monohydrate, with some buffer like bicarb or soda ash or whatever it was. Possibly less sides because you use less, not because it's "better" creatine. No evidence for the claims behind it.

I do remember Louie Simmons recommending against creatine due to injury risk. I wonder how creatine is used in track and field these days. Anyone know?

Creatine mono for me, the cheap stuff from TN:cool:

Okay. I now have no doubt it was the creatine causing my issues.
This is day 3 without creatine. I’m training arms. This is the first workout in months that my biceps don’t feel like they’re about to tear off the inner elbow where they attach.

Been on creatine 15 years I find it very helpful esp for strength and super benifcial during insunlin cycles
