CroCop vs Ganzaga.....Spoiler

lynx said:
Stunned! I couldn't believe it! UGH his leg and ankle. ((shudder))
Bisping messed up Elvis's face, poor guy. :D

So...did anyone notice that CroCop looked a little smaller than usual or was that just me? ;)
Hell yeah, that's what I was thinking:eek:Damn, I thought he snapped his leg and ankle!!!

FUCK...I thought you guys were f'n around....I fell asleep durring that boring ass andre fight and missed the cro cop one....DAMN IT....

My brazilian jiu jitsu Instructor Marcel Ferreria trained with gonzaga at BTT in Brazil and said that he is so strong and a big boned guy. I tell you what if Couture doesn't come in 100% in shape Gonzaga is the new champs my friends........WOW MMA is the shit isn't it? I am done predicting fights anymore.....Couture, Serra, Gonzaga....AWESOME!!!!

i dont have much time to ever get on here now bc of work but FUCK man i am totally shocked fromthe last 2 UFC fights. GSP lost to a no name by nock out crocop lost to a no name by nock out. fuckin kinda strange that 2 of the UFC best fighters got knocked out bc we allllll no that fuckin GSP and crcop would and shall have rapped them by a long shot. fuckin one hit wonders i swear, i was at a wedding when i got the news and i was in pure disgust and still am

jus goes to show u that one good lick on the button and anyone will drop

wow

No names yeah right!!!

gonzaga and matt sera are hardly no names my friend.
Gonzaga is one of the best jiu jitsu heavyweights in the world and multiple mundial champ in jiu jitsu and know making a huge name for himself in MMA. Matt Sera has been in the fight game for years.... a black belt under the gracies and has fought big names in mma for years. Anyone who knows the fight game (MMA) knows that these two guys are not no names or lucky fighters with a lucky kick or punch they have trained for this there whole life. They have paid there dues in the gym and on the mat to get where they are at.....especially considering how hard it is to have a mma carreer.

reply

|---[\\\\]>--------- in this game, all it takes is one good punch or kick...anyone can win

check this out bro

me sayin no names meaning they were not worthy and still r not worthy of the title NOT meaning that they r some noob and some random fuck that jus popped in the world of MMA with no skill or exp. my bad if u took what i meant wrong it was poorly worded but my frustration with teh last 2 events and their turn out is fuckin un real

lets break it down, what i am tryin to say is that mat serra may have beat GSp but is in no way a better or skilled fighter in my book. he hit a good lick and landed soem good blows and ANYONE that gets popped on the button will fall no matter what or who they r. it takes one hit to turn a fight around. mat serra is a skilled fighter no doubt but he is a short lived champ. he will nto last and hold the title for long at all. i say his next fight he will be stripped form it prolly. GSP is a worthy champ and in my book it as a fluke with what happen that night was jus not a good night and would never happen again in my eyes

as far as crocop and gonzaga. bro come on crocop is ranked the fuckin top 3 fighters in the WORLD i dotn even need to get into the skill and acheivments that he has received over gonzaga

comparing crocop to gonzaga is like comparring a pento and a bently

im not takin away or sayin these fighters r shit bc they r not at all they r good fighters without a doubt but they both yes GOT LUCKY and caught them on the button. nice jb way to go i give them props but crocop will rain champion of the UFC heavy weights without a doubt and GSP will be back if penn doesnt end up with the title. matt sera and gonzaga will have there short lived fame and it will be over with. why i say one hit wonders

I kind of agree with the Serra point. If you missed the crocop vs gonzaga fight, then it wasnt a lucky one punch knockout. It was a round completely controlled by gonzaga with cropcop in survival mode while on the ground and not landing anything to speak of while standing. Im a big couture fan and would have much rather seen him fight crocop because of the styles.

I see where your comin from Matt Serra might be a short lived champ but his name has been around for years and respected and deserving of title shot. Matt Serra is gonna fight hughes and he will defend his belt mark my words. As far as crocop he is a phenom!!!!!! but he is a one dimentional fighter. Crocop is a perfect example of knowing what he is good at "kickboxing"! and he is taking that as far as he can. Also Crocop hasn't won any belts except for the open weight grand prix in pride (which fedor did not enter or minotouro) his nickname is "uncrowned king". Crocop is very dangerous and amazing but his weakness was exploited the ground game!
Ganzaga dominated the whole fight and the fight was unfairly stopped and stood up while Gonzaga was throwing elbows all over Crocops face. The fight would have been over if the UFC wasn't favoring their newest high paid investment Crocop by protecting him and standing the fight up and giving Crocop a chance to do something when there was no reason to do so. Even Couture predicted Gonzaga to win the fight and unless Crocop works his jiu jitsu he will not win a belt in the UFC. Look at who has beaten Crocop.....Fedor, minoutaro, josh barnett all submission specialist.....maybe its time for Mirko to hit the mats and become the champ that he deserves to be and thats the reason why he has never won a heavyweight belt. Maybe he never will win a belt by not respecting the ground game or maybe he should train with Chuck Lidell and learn to sprawl and brawl?

agree

he even said himself that he deserved to lose bc the way he has been fighting. he will be back. i think this loss will give him the drive again to return fresh and better then before

I hope so Crocop is awesome and deserves to be champ.....he better hurry up before Fedor comes to the UFC and then its goodnight nurse lol.

I think we are talking about the same thing but I also noticed that Crocop was smaller looking .......in pride they dont test for juice but in the UFC they do random testing and if you get caught your suspended. One of the fighters at my camp American Top Team was suspended by the UFC for using a diretic (spelling).

Yeah, man. Ganzaga is now the #1 contender for Couture. I couldn't believe GSP lost his last fight, but I would've NEVER thought Crocop would lose this one. Crazy, man. Hey, man, I'll shoot you that pm now.

And Kawasaki, you're very welcome.:D

Crocop is still better than Ganzaga, I really truely believe that that was just an insanely lucky kick. GSP was one of my biggest upsets since he's been a long time personal favorite. I really hope Jackson mops the Floor with Liddell like he did back in pride, Liddell has changed alot but I still think Jackson has a fighting chance. No matter what happens Fedor will destroy all in his weight class... :D

thanks mmafighter i just saw the link wow what a fricking kick.....Gonzaga's leg hits Crocops head like redwood......thump!!!!! WOW

You're right that Crocop is still a better fighter than Gonzaga, and that Fedor will destroy all, but Gonzaga's kick was not lucky. He roughed up Mirko pretty good on the ground, and Mirko was out of it and didn't even really see it coming. Mirko stated in an interview that he just wasn't himself in this fight or in the Sanchez fight. He'll be back as good as ever. I'd like to see him fight Arlovski next and if he wins get a shot at the winner of Couture/Gonzaga.

From Napao: I choose the Editor-in-Chief of PuroresuPower.com (Zach Arnold) and the Brazilian Correspondent of ADCC News (Denis Martins) to publish my letter, because they are the people who looked deeply into the problems I had prior to my UFC 56 fight. They knew that I wasn’t 100% going into the fight, so they gave me the support to translate this letter from Portuguese to English and explain the situation. I would like to say that debuting in an event such as the great UFC 56 show isn’t an easy task for a fighter, even fighters who have lots of experience in other organizations. The pressure of debuting in an event that is considered by many to be one of the best in the world is huge. It is always good to debut with a victory, and better with a KO like the one I delivered to Kevin “The Shaman” Jordan. My lack of stamina in the fight against Jordan is something that I want to discuss further and give you an explanation about. People who know me and have seen my previous 5 MMA fights recognize me as a fighter who doesn’t like to stall. I like to trade blows or go for submissions for an entire fight. My only defeat in a fight was against PRIDE fighter Fabricio Werdum at Jungle FC 1. It was a three-round war that the crowd applauded us for. I always do a lot of strong pre-fight training for upcoming matches and I never expect to face a tomato can in fights. I always intend on showing my best game, no matter who the opponent is. I always will dash against who is in front of me with all of my strength. When my fight partner Marcio showed me the UFC contract, I didn’t hesitate in signing it because UFC was always a dream for me, a dream to participate in this premiere American MMA organization. I signed it and I had two months to prepare, which is enough time to provide an excellent showing for the UFC fans. I moved from my residence of Sao Paulo, Brazil to Massachusetts to participate at the training center where all of my preparation was done for the UFC 56 fight against Jordan. However, destiny conspired against me and gave me some unpleasant surprises which totally put me down. My wife was five months pregnant with twins and these would be our first two kids. We discovered that one of the children nearly died and that the other child was at risk of dying, putting my wife’s life at risk as well. We moved immediately to Rio de Janeiro, where we would have more hospital support and the support of my wife’s parents. The situation was growing more desparate and I couldn’t let my wife be alone in this tough moment. With seven months of pregnancy gone by, we had to make an emergency child birth. God reserved a place on his side to one of my daughters (Leticia) and he gave us the gift of a beautiful girl named Isabela (who stayed in the incubator for a month and five days to gain some weight). Now she is at home with my wife and I thank God for it. With all of this taking place, I arrived in Massachusetts 12 days prior to the UFC 56 fight and I didn’t have the time to prepare properly. I couldn’t tell the organizers and promoters of UFC (who trusted my potential) that I would have to cancel 10 days before the show. I couldn’t let this opportunity of showing my talent to the UFC fans slip away. I went into the fight against Jordan that night thinking that I had a good first round because I took him down, got the mount, and nearly submitted him by choke. Plus, I had some hits that landed and connected. However, I really gassed out in the second and third rounds, but I ended the fight with a beautiful KO. I would like to thank all of you who supported me and gave me enough strength after the fight. To those who criticized me during and after the fight, I can tell you all that I am not displeased with that. All the fans have their reasons for criticism because they expected more from me and I didn’t show it. I will talk from the bottom of my heart and the next opportunity I get, I will show 100% of my technique and will-power to erase the bad image that I showed from the UFC 56 fight. I am sure that the UFC fans will applaud me after I provide them a show that they deserve to see. I will show technique on the ground and on the feet. And a lot of heart! I will be prepared for a war the next time and fight with my strength, whether it is 3 rounds or 5 rounds if necessary. I do not have any fear of talking about my desire to win a UFC belt and I will show it for the fans in my next fight. Be sure of my words above — you can see it in me the next time I fight. Gabriel “Napao” Gonzaga

Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovich talks about his recent loss to Gabriel Gonzaga, his health and his plans for the future. Translated: Croatian fighter Mirko Cro Cop is healing consequences of a hard defeat to Gabriel Gonzaga in the UFC 70 tournament in Manchester, Great Britain. Shocking pictures of unconscious Cro Cop lying in the cage looked unreal since we were used to see exactly the opposite ones for years. Mirko had similar experiences with Kevin Randleman in Pride and Michael McDonald in K-1. He lost by KO to both of them [that's not true, although it says so in the article], and both times he succeeded to comeback to the top. Although his charisma got seriously hurt, if not destroyed, Mirko claims he has the motivation and strength for a new comeback. Q: Do you feel any health consequences from Manchester episode? A: I don't have headaches, nor any visible consequences from Gonzaga's high-kick. If it weren't for the pain in the right ankle, I'd already be training. However, I have to passively rest for two weeks. The ankle is swollen, but I don't think anything is broken, otherwise I wouldn't be able to walk. Still, I'll go to see a doctor one of these days and have it scanned." Q: You seemed absent in the cage? A: I wasn't myself against Gonzaga. I just couldn't decide to begin an exchange of punches, to go forward. Something similar happened to me in my last fight vs. Sanchez, but I still won that fight. These things happen to me in cycles. First I learn a lesson in the ring, then I go wild and win in streaks. However, there are no alibies for this defeat, and I am not looking for any. Q: What determined the outcome? A: Gonzaga's elbows to my temple. When I got up, my vision was blurry and I didn't even see that right high-kick. Q: Did you make any mistakes in the preparation for the fight? A: The preparations were great and are not the problem. Right before the fight I was apathetic, no good, couldn't focus and I fought without any strategy. Q: What will your future in the UFC look like? A: I will definitely come back stronger. It's out of place to talk about the belt, but I will respect the contract. Of course, provided there are no new injuries. However, I don't know what could make me fight more after I work off the remaining 4 fights. Q: When can we expect you back in the ring? A: I believe I'll fight again in the UFC at the end of August or beginning of September. I expect to get a chance to rematch Gonzaga. Thanks to everyone who came to Manchester for me, and all who called me wishing me good luck. I got more than 200 calls and I couldn't answer everyone.
