JUST POSTING TO LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT ACCORDING TO MY BUD DAVE, CUTLER IS LOOKING UNREAL.. HE TALKED TO HIM TODAY AND CUTLER IS 290 POUNDS OR A LITTLE OVER.. HE IS IN SHAPE DAVE SAID AND HAS DELTS LIKE HE HAS NEVER SEEN BEFORE IN BODYBUILDING.. AND HE HAS BEEN AROUND.. HE STILL THINKS RONNIE WILL TAKE IT BUT, HE SAID RONNIE WILL NOT BE THE ONLY ONE 290 POUNDS ON STAGE AND RONNIE WILL NOT BE THE BIGGEST ONE STAGE LIKE HE USUALLY IS.. HE SAID THAT MOST OF THE COMPETITORS LOOK MUCH LARGER THAN THE PAST OLYMPIA.. SHOULD BE INTERESTING.. SO MUCH FOR THE NICE LINES AND SYMMETRY.. THIS WILL BE A FREAK SHOW BABY..

if you go over to muscle mayhem, there is a thread in the general discussion section entitles " cutler 3 days out" or something along those lines and it has a link to a video of cutler posing at Gold's Vegas a few days ago and trust me cutler looks just fucking sick. His quads are just ridiculous. I think ronnie will still win but I have a feeling it is gonna be like 2001 when jay came out of no place to almost beat ronnie. Jay just looks that good.

Ok a few questions:

Why is Darrem boring? If he gained mass would he still be boring?

To get to the sizes of the mass monsters is it a matter of supplementation, yet the training is the same or does it require an entire new nutrition/supplemenation and training system?

WHAT IS REQUIRED TO BE A MASS MONSTER?? GENETICS.. do not believe for a second that the smaller guys are not taking huge amounts of gear and in many cases more than the freaks.. it is all a matter of who has the best genes for the sport in general.. darrem is a great bodybuiler.. he has great roundness to his muscle and good shape overall.. but, there is no ...POP!.. THERE IS NOTHING THAT MAKES YA SAY, "OH MY GOD".. isnt that why we go to the shows?? look at the mags?? we want to be inspired and awed.. if darrem gained 15 pounds with those round muscle bellies he would be awe inspiring.. dc and me pluus many others will tell ys in previous threads that gear does not make a monster if youdo not have the genes for it.. as stated in other posts by me, i have trained a few people for shows and some of the smallest guys are the biggest abusers.. theyu just do not have th genes to be big..

Thanks but I did not think my question implied it was the quantity of gear anyone is taking gives them size advantages, if it did , that was not my intent.

The reason I asked the question is because:

I was wondering if a combination of nutrition, training and supplementation is what allows a person to make a huge jump in size in one or two seasons (maybe the Darrem type guys are just not eating enough and lifting heavy enough?)

Why we as fans appreciate huge size over say a Darrem Charles type physique, who brings phenomenal conditioning to the stage and a great posing routine. (to get into that type of condition takes a great deal of discipline so its like we are not appreciating that as much as we are the size...which if size is genetic as suggested...would come regardless of what a person does whereas condition seems to mean many weeks of work).

I wish conditioning was genetic for me..

I think the wave of the future is a healthy appearance, with tight waist lines, nice lines, pleasant to look at, etc.
You will always have "Mass monsters" and those that support that look. That appeals to those on the extreme fringe. That look got carried away starting with Dorian in 93. Look at all of the health problems of the pros from the 1990's.
Francois, Newman, Don Long, Tom Prince, Flex Wheeler, Lee Priest, Milos Sarcev, etc etc
I will agree with the statement that it is all about GENETICS---Look, you either got it or you don't. There isn't enough gear in the world to make up for what one is lacking in genetics (Unfortunately, many try mainly due to psychological issues that are for another thread)
