cycling with crohns/colitis

just been looking at an old thread about colitis and wondered if "love to compete" may be able to help me with a question i have ? also does anybody else have crohns or colitis and still manage to cycle aas ok ? thanks guys

I feel for you bro...My mom has Crohns, uncle colitis, me fortunately only IBS. I cant imagine the pain you guys go through...mine is sometimes crippling...

yeah its not much fun lol but my main problem is getting people to talk about their gear use ie every time ive tried to run even a mild cycle its flared up my crohns and i have had to stop! and like i say i cant get the answers i need it would be great to hear how flex wheeler copes or peter neilson or greg zulak but because it involves talking about steroids i guess its why i have drawn a blank but i figured there are some really knowlageable guys here and also some pros and such and maybe someone will read this and have some answers? was hoping lovetocompete or gavin and the others might of spoken to the people that could have the solution to this anyway thanks in advance for any replys richie

Maybe I'm wrong, but doesnt crones require steroids for treatment?

i'm guessing your diet had great effect on crohns and colitis?

I don't have it but from my readings AAS could be both helpful and harmful since these are autoimmune diseases, since AAS can both suppress or boost immunity. So it could depend on which steroids are used and whether it's chrohns or colitis.

thanks for responses guys obviously ive researched the hell out of this subject and was hoping someone might have personal experience with this or i know its a long shot but maybe some people here who talk to the pros and other people with experience of crohns and colitis may be able to chip in ? is love to compete about? or anyone with advice cant talk to doctor as he just says steroids shouldnt be used by bodybuilders anyway!

I have IBS and recently it has been getting worse. Any thoughts on basic things to keep it in check?

avoid creatine and also oral steroids and obviously keep an eye on what you eat and how it effects you other than that i really just learning myself

hey my mom died ten years ago from crohns disease she had it terribly bad and after she was wrongfully diagnosed with cancer and had most of her intestine and colon removed a big no no for one with crohns disese it only got way worse. i have also been diagnosed with crohns disease i plan on starting my first cycle within the next month and like you i have done an insane amount of reading theres just not much out there. they had my mom on so many drugs it was rediculous including steroinds non anabolic of course. in my opinion and im no doctor or pro in this matter at all but i think its goin to be ok. ive been lucky i have only had a couple flareups of the disease dont get me wrong it was horible when it happened im 27 and it hasnt bothered me like it did my mom. if you look at the treatment of ibs colitis and crohns youll find the side effects of the drugs used similiar to the side effects of aas. suppression of the immune system is involved in treatment. ive told my doctor of my want to use aas his only reply was make sure you come in for regular blood work and check ups and good luck. boost your amino acids it seems to help all the whey is good provided its not hard on you. thats the thing with these types of medical conditions everything effects everyone diff ie; things you eat, drink, sleep, stress and a million other things the main point with that is know your body and take care of it its the only one you have..... well im babling on here post a reply with any Q's you have and i'll try an answer with the knowledge i have and what i can get out of my doctor hes great he treated my mom the best he could after the botched surgery if shed of only found him b4 the butcher that got ahold of her i'l post an let everyone know how the cycle goes after i start
