Yea

Dont do it Heinz.........it will not make or break you.......stick to what you are doing, no need to jeopordize anything.

That stuff is very stressful for your liver Heinz, also it makes you very sleepy. Very dangerous stuff! As Phil said it will make or break you....

Yeah i been wanting this stuff forever and finally gave up. I also realize these guys are right and i been doing just fine without it and i don't need it. I've also read that its very hard on your joints too. Inflammatory thing

cytadren ......used to be easy to get back in my day .....we got it from greece.........It is a nice add last 2 weeks before a show ......kinda of like haloteston ......added the last 2 weeks while bumping your anti e's can give you that extra grainy look ......I have helped lots of guys in the past do this ......1 tab am and 1 at night ......worked well and I didn't see any problems.........I also knew guys in the mid 90s that were using it 4 weeks on 4 weeks off with their gh and insulin.......they used it to lower cortisol to allow for more extreme growth.........it seemed to work .......on the 4 weeks off they were using L-dopa with their gh before bed ......it seem to work better than all the igf 1 proticals that came out later.......was it healthy or worth it ? prob not .......most of that stuff is only icing on the cake ......their are no secrets.........if magnum can ever get you pealed ......then just get some halo the last 2 weeks .....20 -40mgs will give you alittle extra hardness......but you have to be dialed in for it to matter........I saw you at the sac .....I wanted to say hi , but couldn't find you before I had to leave ......you know I am a fan and think the world of you........good luck this yr .....hope you and the wife are well

Too tired

I read a lot about cytadren many years ago. Thought it seemed logical to supress cortisol a bit. Turns out it wiped me out. Cortisol is actually good for us but obviously at certain levels. I wouldnt touch it again. IMO I'm sure many of the vets know more than me though.

used it in my 06 shows and it seems to make a real difference...just the last 2 weeks

The thing which, in my mind, sets it apart from other ancillary compounds currently in use today is its unique ability to inhibit the production of cortisol. Cortisol, as you recall, is a catabolic hormone, and breaks down muscle. Cytadren inhibits the conversion of cholesterol to pregnenolone (2) as well as having an aromatase inhibiting effect. Thus, Cytadren is quite unique in having both of these abilities, and certainly none of the AI´s I´ve seen thus far has anything resembling such an effect on cortisol.

Cytadren is used, medically, to fight breast cancer and/or hyperadrenocorticism, and it is the only drug currently available (to my knowledge) that can be used successfully for both purposes (1)(3). It may even have anti-depressive properties (4)(5). During a cycle, it may be used to both lower cortisol levels from intense training, and to lower estrogen levels. Sounds almost perfect, right? It´s use would allow us to consider the use of Arimidex, Nolvadex, or a similar compound for strictly post cycle use, when an increase in test, LH, and FSH would be more necessary...

Well, it´s not quite perfect, as you´ll soon see. The first problem is that it (possibly) could reduce androgen levels. The best we could hope for is that it doesn´t have much of an effect on circulating androgen levels (1).

The next problem is that eventually your body, smart cookie that it is, will start to figure out ways to compensate for the reduction in cortisol, by either producing more, or inhibiting the Cytadren´s effects. Great... And while the cortisol isn´t present in your body, your joints will be aching. Yeah, I´ve actually used this stuff (the things I do in the name of science!), and it worked& made me look a bit "dryer" and more cut; but as I recall, it also made me sleepy. This could be due to its effects on the adrenal cortex, I don´t really know, but that´s a pretty good guess.

If you are thinking about using Cytadren for this purpose, I´d have to tell you to forget it. Three grams of Vitamin C lowers your Cortisol around as much as 1,000mgs of Cytadren, from the literature I´ve seen on both, and the Vitamin C doesn´t do it at the expense of your adrenal responsiveness (7). A gram of Vitamin C lowered cortisol by 1/3rd in UltraMarathon Competitors (8) (these are the people who apparently don´t have cars, so they feel compelled to run 90 kilometers at a time). I just can´t justify taking Cytadren for an extended period of time to reduce cortisol, when Vitamin can do the same thing, more cheaply, and has other added benefits.
Next, we have to deal with Cytadren´s liver toxicity (3). This stuff is pretty stressful on your liver. I guess we can use some milk thistle and such, but do we really want to risk it, when it´s effects on cortisol are short lived and it may reduce circulating androgen levels?

This is where people start to do things that will make or break them. Worthless IMO.

i used this stuff under the advice of someone that does prep online (has his own board). bottom line it was terrible for me. messing with cortisol is no joke. i barely made it thru mandatory's. then for a week afterwards i couldnt see well enough to drive my car. had my eye site all messed up. at the time i was a bouncer at a casino and i couldnt read id's that where right in front of my face. i just let everyone in and did as little as possible.

Good point !!!
My 3 friends, top ranked pros complains about lack of energy but they are crazy for it. Might make one of them Mr o? Or break him??? Let's see.
I have a friend that took it once, he was very tired and with red eyes, but he changed dramaticly in the last 5 days before the show and actually got 6th place in a pro show on Europe where Ronnie got first place.

Nice cut'n'paste from steroid.com BigMatt. Thought I recognised the exact wording from somewhere...

Anyway, I found another good blurb on cytadren @ mesomorphosis, but although it mentioned that concurrent use of cytadren with cortisone will overcome the body's limiting mechanism, it strongly warned of liver toxicity & the threat of inducing hypothyroidism.

I'll stick with vit C for cortisol & aromasin for anti-E...

What form of Vit c?

1. Ascorbic Acid

This is pure Vitamin C and has a sharp taste. It is a cheap and cheerful way to take Vitamin C but is most likely to cause gastric irritation in those with sensitive stomachs.

2. Calcium Ascorbate

Calcium Ascorbate is ascorbic acid bound to calcium, providing a non-acidic form of Vitamin C that is gentle on the digestive system. Calcium Ascorbate also provides a supplemental form of calcium.

3. Magnesium Ascorbate

Magnesium Ascorbate is acsorbic acid bound to magnesium. It is also a non-acid form of Vitamin C that is highly absorbable as well as gentle on the stomach. It is also a supplemental form of magnesium.

4. Ester C

Ester C is a patented formulation of Vitamin C in the Calcium Ascorbate form that makes it easily absorbable as well as non-acidic. It is a top of the range product and highly recommended for maximum, rapid absorption and for taking large doses. It is also the most expensive type of Vitamin C
