I havent researched it at all yet. kinda in shock right now... my dad AND his brother both got diagnosed with prostate cancer this week! My uncle is not a healthy guy. my dad is THE picture of healthy natural male. He exercises to this day always stays in good shape watches what he eats etc. doesnt smoke doesnt drink.... he is 66 years old.
He owned a gym when i was younger. hes prob the reason gym feels like home to me. anyway....
I am @40 yrs old if Dad and my Uncle have prostate cancer and i have maybe abused roids for 10 years what does this mean for me!?
little worried tbh. i never really used anti estrogens...
i will research (but kinda scared too and still in shock) it but are our prostates at risk banging juice?

shit bro im sorry to hear that..

i hope they caught it super early and he has good odds

thank you brother

they caught it early sounds like. he has tough decisions to make. cut it out, radiation or see if it goes dormant. apparently lots of guys get prostate cancer but they typically outlive it. BUT, his sounds like it is THERE and basically his choice is cut it out or radiation. My uncle has chosen radiation. (honeslty, i think thats cuz he isnt healthy and the surgery would be alot of possible complications, i also think its cuz he has a girlfriend and wants to have sex)
I bet my dad chooses to have it removed.
makes me sad. he is my idol. a man i always thought was indestructible. thought i was too. now i dont...

u can't have sex without a prostate?

i dont think so. like not at all. i think thats why its kind of a taboo cancer. kinda has a dark cloud about it cuz it ultimately means no more erections.

That's great they caught it early, great odds. You know I always wondered if I increased my chances by living the lifestyle. My two grandfathers passed away from Prostate cancer, they come from the old school where they don't see a doctor until they are in bad shape.

I've read different things on prostate cancer, one thing I read is that test levels don't increase your chances...it's more estrogen. Anyway hopefully someone with more knowledge on this can chime in.

?

so why is there a drug called 'dutasteride/finasteride' to treat prostate cancer which blocks the conversion of test to dht?

also dutasteride and finasteride will raise estrogen

care to back your broscience up?

Sorry to hear it fit. My dad has it but it's so slow growing, they just keep an eye on it...no treatment. He will be 78 later this year. In the last few years, it hasn't changed.

He didn't make a statement, he asked a question...ease up!

Fit2Serve,

So sorry to hear about you father. I lost my Dad not too long ago to prostate cancer
(stage 4, had metastasized to his bones and lungs). I went to all his Dr. appointments
until he finally went to hospice care, I was with him there too and was with him when
he died. Not a fun way to go . . . the most horrific pain imaginal.

My Dad was fit as a fiddle, a personal trainer at local gym. But . . . after the age of 80,
he did not check his PSA, should have, doctors should have insisted on it because he
had a suspicious biopsy years before.

I was told by my Urologist that my odds of getting prostate cancer will be the same
as everybody else’s after the age of 63 (this year for me), until then the risk is higher
because of my father. I get it checked every 6 months. And my Urologist also is a
huge believer in TRT, shots every 4 days, levels to be high, but under 1,000.

I am no expert on the correlation of steroid use and prostate cancer, and I don’t think
anybody on this board is. I would recommend working creating a close relationship
with a well-respected Urologist and be up front and honest about your ‘usage.’ And
work with him / her moving forward to help mitigate any issues that might arise from
your usage.

I truly wish you, your Dad, family and friends, all the best moving forward as you
navigate these unknown waters. Stay strong, reach out to the PM community
when you need to (we care), but more importantly I think, if you can, be with them
when they go to the doctor; ask lots of questions, and learn as much as you can.
This is early in the process so don’t freak out, stay cool and take each days
as it comes.

something tells me you wont be here long .

As was mentioned by DC make sure he gets an MRI for staging. Once you have the results please post them up and I can help guide decision making

As for you..

if you are taking GH please stop and do not take it anymore.

Both DHT and estrogen can play a role in prostate cancer so either stop using AAS or if you choose to continue I would make sure i was using legit AI's from pharmacy with low dose AAS that do not bind directly to androgen or DHT receptor ( no tren or Mast etc), and I would take either higher dose finasteride or dutasteride.

What people are getting confused is the role DHT plays... Let me try to put this to bed so people can stop pretending like DHT is fine. DHT itself does not cause prostate cancer.. Just like GH does not cause prostate cancer. However with the family history IF you do get prostate cancer it likely had those singalling pathways by which DHT and IGF bind and would greatly accelerate its growth and possibly ability to mets.

Well i have had 2 friends of mine get it. Both had it removed and both cant get it up UNLESS they use viagra. Both have told me if they pop a viagra, they are good to go. But both say if they dont, its not even close.

I take DIM 2 times a day and have for 10 years. One of the main reasons i started taking it was i read somewhere, it helps prevent prostrate cancer. Not sure the truth but Dante could chime in on it.

good luck to your father and uncle, at least it was caught early ( that's a big key ), my father was old school and did not get regular check ups, he really got down before diagnosed, once he was diagnosed it had already mets to bone, he lived another 4 years after being diagnosed late, he was diagnosed at age 68, passed at 72, I get psa every 6 months and dre every 12 months, I'm almost 52.

Gotgame, does that include DHB's like 1-test-cyp and methenolone (primo) on your list of suggested AAS to steer away from?

Fit2Serve, very sorry to hear about your dad and uncle man :( I hope this works out OK for them both man

Not sure lol. I know very little about 1-test cyp and primo ive seen mixed data with respect to how it binds. I personally wouldnt roll the dice.

I mean my first recommendation would be to stop AAS due to high risk.
But if one was to still use id probably stick to lower dose test and occassional var. When combined with great diet and killing it in the gym i dont think the other stuff would be needed and may just add higher risk.

You can certainly look into how the others bind and go from there but problem can be not enough data to make a decision. Like with respect to nandrolones in the presence of a 5AR inhib and what that does.
