DaHurt's First Contest Prep (with Shelby Starnes!)

Just a quick update.

Feeling really strong despite consuming much less calories. I was able to squat 405 for 10, 8, 6, 6 reps day before yesterday, which is basically what I do in my offseason caloric surplus mode. So I'm happy with that.

I'm going to shuffle around my training split to prioritize hamstrings a little more. I already train them first on leg day, but I think I'm going to start hitting them twice a week again, and training them separate from quads on leg day...I'm thinking:

Chest, tri's
Back, biceps, hamstrings
Delts, traps, calves
REST
Arms
AM hamstrings & calves, PM quads
REST

This split would allow me to train arms and hamstrings both twice per week, I think with ample rest between...and these are the two areas I'd like to bring up.

Any input is greatly appreciated...

My posing coach told me just last week, regarding the issue of smiling "She said if its not natural than dont force it" I kinda just smirk a bit! just think of something half ass funny and you are sure to have a more natural look! IMO :)

Been sick the last three days, having trouble keeping food down, and no training. Nonetheless, here are update pics from this AM. 226.7 lbs 10 weeks out.

Thanks man...if nothing else, cutting has definitely shown me the areas I need to prioritize in the offseason...e.g. ARMS!

Same...as weird as it sounds, I actually enjoy it though. I realize this is a journey, and I know it'll give me some goals to keep me driven next offseason...I'm excited to see what I can do for my weak areas...I love this game man!
 
Also, how's working with Shelby been? As soon as I have any expendable cash, I'm immediately hiring him and John meadows. Not only do they have the skills, but they both seem like awesome, down to earth guys.

It's been great so far man, highly recommend him! I would hire John also to cover training, but I just don't have the $$$ at the moment...definitely will in the future though!

Keep it up man definitley making good progress. I was thinking about going with Shelby for some diet help, this has definitley helped push me his direction.

Got in contact with John Meadows...said he and Shelby actually offer package deals! God I can't wait til I have some spare coin. Something to look into hurt.
