Dave tate table talk with Justin Harris

Listened to it yesterday and enjoyed it. Listening to another with Justin now (carb cycling). So long

JUst want to let you guys know that Dava tate has a new podcast with Justin and it's great as always.

LOts of talk about contest prep, and everything Bodybuilding.

I love Justin don't get me wrong but since i have seen pretty much every podcast his done in his life all i hear is the same 4-5 analogies and stories over and over again :D

True. But it's always good to hear/watch. At least for me. I worked with him for a year and he's great.

I’ve been working with Justin the entire time I’ve been competitively bodybuilding, since 2019. I still enjoy listening to new podcasts with him. A lot of repetition and rehashing, but the way he explains things is super engaging - at least to me, since we both have an engineering / linear way of thinking.

He’s been throwing in a lot of nuggets about investing lately, too.

I’ve only listened to 1 and am half way through the other with Justin and I actually thought for a second it was the same podcast. At least he’s consistent!

Justin has a Master Degree in Atomic Physics.

Jesus Christ, that's a smart, jacked Dude 😅

He’s definitely a smart guy but I like that he keeps things simple. Eat rice and meat, train hard and push basic compounds as needed. Although repetitive I enjoy his podcasts hamming down the basics and overall seems like a genuine nice guy

4-5 analogies basically sum up the entirety of bodybuilding

Eat progressively, Train hard, take drugs that don't make you sick, sleep, repeat for 10 years

Yep, Justin is consistent and actually no wonder why he repe Himself over and over again- there’s nothing new to say. ITS ALL COMES DOWN TO BASIC THERE, NOW, AND IN THE NEAREST 100 YEARS :D

Maybe not for the next 100 years 😳 but for the foreseable future, undoubtedly....

I don't think that physiology of the human body gonna change that much in terms of simple thermodynamics... I think you still gonna simple train hard, eat well, and rest as much as you can to get huge/lean :p.

Thermodynamics won't change. Biochemistry might. Or more accurately, pharmacological manipulation of biochemical pathways. The exogenous compounds we use in bodybuilding are meant to enhance normal biological processes, within the confines of the underlying physics.

From the last 30 years of bodybuilding almost nothing change. Wanna grow? high test+anabolic+shit ton of food+hard training. Wanna get peeled? Lowet test, higher anabolics, less food, still hard training. There are many protocols, ideas of using a certain families of drugs in the certain magical mix, using peptide etc and? Still those who are seriously look like they are bodybuild stick to the basics, and those who looking for a holy grail are small AF.

I'll check out any interview Justin Harris does but this goof who interviewed him (it wasn't Dave Tate) was painful to listen to. He came off like a guy with no real-world experience in bodybuilding who asked questions based on random stuff he read on message boards.

Here are timestamps for the primary topics and some statements from Justin that guys would get upset with if any of us experienced guys here made them.

Starts off with arm wrestling talk (Justin is now competing in arm wrestling)
00:14:25 - How does Justin personalize PED use?
00:25:50 - Why do people do deca-only or EQ-only cyces?
00:31:05 - The math forumla for why it takes so long to build muscle
00:35:30 - Why are people irrationally scared of insulin?
00:38:03 - What would the average guy get from insulin?
00:39:42 - Justin's insulin protocol
00:43:40 - Justin explains GH not being anabolic but why guys using GH are bigger
00:44:55 - How much GH should you take?
00:45:40 - The long-term damage GH does to the physique
00:46:30 - Justin explains why guys in the 1990s weren't as lean as many believe
00:48:08 - Justin explains why guys today weigh more but aren't as big as guys in the 1990s
00:51:50 - Justin thinks peptides will be the future of sport performance
00:53:55 - In bodybuilding, will peptides have more of a future with women?
00:55:39 - Justin says you have about 10 years to blast GH before it ruins your physique
00:59:23 - Justin explains why the quality of pro physiques hasn't plummeted despite more pro cards being given out than ever
01:02:47 - Justin explains the primary physiological pathway that kills PED users
01:03:58 - Justin says 200mcg clen is a common dose today and explains how misunderstood clen is - do asthmatics take time off their medications?
01:07:00 - Justin explains why DNP is one of the safer fat loss compounds though it does have long-term costs
01:08:30 - But Justin has never seen someone use DNP and their prep not be a disaster
01:05:55 - Beta-3 agonists as the future of fat loss drugs
01:10:09 - Justin talks Ozempic and GLP-agonist use in bodybuilding
20 minutes of a bunch of amateur-hour questions on competing and peak week
01:32:20 - Working with clients like fitness models who have to stay lean year-round
01:38:38 - Achieving the right balance of leanness, fullness, and hardness in female competitors
01:43:35 - Is there any way via training or supplementation to increase vascularity?
01:46:50 - How does Justin improve weak body parts in very advanced competitors who are close to maxed out?
01:57:00 - Justin discusses different training methods for hypertrophy and when they're appropriate
02:01:05 - Do different training styles really give a different look to the physique? Ex. heavier lifters appear more densely muscled
02:04:55 - Training forearms and calves
02:28:48 - Justin explains how using insulin will keep you leaner
02:31:30 - Justin explains that the best bodybuilders don't stress over things and DON'T OVERTHINK BODYBUILDING!
02:45:41 - Should you hold at a new weight for some time before dieting down? Justin explains that a rebound is like framing a house
02:53:35 - Justin talks rebounds and how lean you should get for a good rebound
02:56:49 - Justin says when you're bulking if body fat gets so high you can't tell if you're dry or wet in the morning then body fat is too high
02:57:35 - How does Justin use carb cycling with naturals?
03:08:44 - Justin mentions PROFESSIONAL MUSCLE - he may have been referring to @concreter and his keto with Lantus protocol

Did it by hand as I was listening to it.

The AI we have out today isn't nearly as advanced as people think and the fact that it can't do timestamps is a great example of that.

Damn that’s some work you did right there. Now I want to watch the full interview.

I tried to watch it but couldn’t get past the dude from the local skateboard shop asking the questions all over the place. Not to mention nobody could get Justin’s headphones working. Stuff you do during pre-check. Lol
