that's just it.....its retarded to even play with the day before a show.

the reasoning behind it.....is to deplete it "to dry out"....thinking
the sodium will retain water in the muscle.....which very well may be
in some people.....it all depends how much sodium your taking on a regular
basis.....

basically, its a reason to say you blew the show, or fucked up your sodium
because your really just not lean enough...

dropping sodium is just not needed......using it as a tool to carb up can
work however...:lightbulb: amounts and timing are what matters.

im not saying anything else about it.....not that i know anything anyway.

Yes, if you're still in a calorie deficit trying to lose fat, the muscles aren't as full as they could be.
 
He should trust his coach the whole way through. Then when that ridiculous plan doesn't work get a new coach :D

In all seriousness everyone responds differently but not quite sure what he is thinking. Eveyone has covered everything and if you are ready there should be no reason to mess about with things. However even if you are looking great messing about with water and sodium etc could really mess up your look and fast. You can't trick your body over a week. You can trick it in the very short term though.

first of all.....it looks like a lot of nonsense.....

def be ready atleast 1 week out. I think 2-3 weeks out or more is when one should be ready if POSSIBLE. gives good amount of time to play with a carb up or this crazy sodium water nonsense in this thread:D
but every time I was ready 1 week out I always thought: man I woulda looked better if I was ready 2 weeks out or 3 weeks out or.... you prob know what I mean.

Ha!.. this...... I currently am under TMT's tutelage and I've been successful as of late for 2 reasons....1) Working with TMT 2) my body is like clockwork... we did SEVERAL mock runs and fucking NAILED it...prior to getting with these 2 i'd do something fucking retarded and blow it..... I was stage ready 3 weeks out for every show... but id make a MAJOR change and poof ... down the toilet.... these guys kept it simple... the key (to me anyways) is being ready early... I'm not saying any more cuz then id have to kill you all.... part of the contrtact... LOL ... ;)

I've always had a larger than average fluid capacity. I drink a liter of water (with 30g HBCD/EAA) on my way to the gym and get in a minimum 3 liters of water (60g more of intra mix) during my workout...so yeah, three gallons a day is pretty easy for me.
 
I'm actually a day out as well but a good buddy of mine is competing tomorrow and he has followed his coaches plan. I know there are a number of variables but he was wanting advice on what he could do to correct if there are any issues- figured I'd see if anyone knowledgeable had some input they could give.


Protocol so far (not using a diuretic)

10 days out- water loading 3 gal
Week of:
Mon- 3 gal, cut 1/3 sodium
Tues- 3 gal, cut 2/3 sodium
Wed- 3 gal, zero sodium
Thurs- 1.5gal, zero sodium
Friday- 1 gal, zero sodium

Basically he is thinking he may not be tight or filled out enough which is where carbs and sodium come in. I'm not a coach which is why I wanted a 2nd opinion but he won't spill over Saturday so long as he isn't drinking any water so he could always add carbs.

More wondering what the impact would be of adding sodium Friday night/Saturday morning after the water drop.

Any input appreciated!

wow.....that won't work! Its backwards; when he should be adding (sodium/water) its being removed. Plenty of solid advice already been given; lot of hard work flushed down the toilet.
