I switched to dc 11 weeks ago, loving it made great gains on my first 10 week blast on a 2 week cruse right now. I’m 26 and power lifted in my teen days, so I’m pretty strong close to 500 pound bench over 700 dead lift and around 600 squat. My thing is on the 2 way split I’m killing myself with my first couple lifts like incline and military press to the point I feel it takes away from my back training. I know wojo says to stay with the 2 way for a good amount of time because of more opportunities per year to grow. I just feel like I could lift harder on the 3 way. Maybe I’m getting ahead of myself are should I move to the 3 way? If it helps I’m 6’2 265 about 14% bf.

Thanks Nick

i'm not dante, but if you are moving those types of numbers on the 2 way then you should probably move over to the 3 way

Try it...

I know exactly what you mean and I made the switch too after awhile on DC. The 2 way is fantastic and I suggest if you are still making gains each blast then keep going. The 3 way should be used only when your really exhausted the 2 way unless your advanced and truly could use the extra day to spread bodyparts out more and allow for widowmakers and such to bring up weak bodyparts.

Your numbers and size suggest you know what your doing when it comes to training so you might as well go for it. But again, for pure size and strength the 2 way is KING.

Surely at those kind of pounds the problem is from warm ups. Bald Nazi if I was pulling 500 off the floor I would need several w UPS and I could see the workout going well over an hour

Exactly why I had to switch. Time was getting way too long and recovery was suffering. each blast was getting shorter and shorter as i had to get into cruise mode more often. As Dante says taking an extra day off within the blast from time to time will help but once your taking too many, something is up and recovery is usually the problem.

But again for most people the 2 way is more then enough, you will know when to switch over. Sounds like bignick is ready..
