How often do you guys get a full body deep tissue massage??
My chiropractor really digs into my upper back and neck every other week and the weeks between he focuses on shoulder, bicep , tricep but it's mostly for tendonitis type work.

I've heard in the past that alot of the top pros get a full body once a week or every other week and swear it helps with muscle shape and allows you to feel the muscle better when training and posing
 
I get 1 1/2 hour massage on occasion but it isn’t full body. I have a lot of issues with my neck and shoulder/back that burn time. I absolutely believe that breaking up knots allows better blood flow and for me it increases range of motion.
The challenge is finding someone that knows what they’re doing.
Full disclosure, I’m not a pro, much less a top one
 
How ironic, Sitting here at chiro waiting for my deep tissue, going to try cupping to see how it works
 
If I were rich I would spend all my money on messages practically every day, but since I am not, I only go when I break from training and I have some injuries and discomfort.

It doesn't matter if you're pro or not, if you've been lifting for many years you are definitely going to live with some shitty pains.
 
Chinese reflexology places are like 30/hr.
And yes theere are reputable places who do legit massages without cranking dudes off.
 
My insurance pays for 50 physical therapy visits per year, I try to use them all. PTs address tight muscles with a number of techniques that are extremely effective. Muscles don't get tight for no reason, the underlying cause has to be addressed, massage/release is only part of the puzzle.
 
I get the scraping with gua sha tools once in awhile for triggering points and it will last about a month before getting it done again. It certainly helps with pain relief and start pushing hard again at the gym so you gotta do what you gotta do!
 
Maybe I've just gone to the wrong providers but I've never had a good deep tissue massage. A handful of times I've been able to get dry needling from a PT on generally stiff/sore areas like upper back and calves. Those are incredible! I'd highly recommend anyone give them a try just once.
