Dehydration

I have a friend in the hospital for severe dehydration. The odd thing is that he's gained about 25-30lbs since the USAs and he's admitted to hospital for this weeks after his show. Is there any other causes that anyone knows of that can cause this? It doesn't add up. Weird fact about his body is that I've never seen him sweat and uses sodium with every food meal...any ideas on what's causing this?

There are cases where people don't sweat but most cases i've seen where a person doesn't sweat is simply because their water intake is to low. They drink energy drinks, coffee, cokes, ect. ect. But not near enough water. Also don't know where he lives but in places where humidity is very low you can dehydrate and never appear to sweat but do. When i was in military and did ops in desert i would walk around all day drinking 2-3 gallons a day and never appear to sweat . Where i live now temp is around 100 degrees and high humidity and i sweat just standing around. When i quit sweating i know i haven't been drinking enough water and i start drinking more.

He's in Phoenix. I feel that it's own fault for not drinking two gallons like ive always told him

Wait so not drinking water will prevent profuse sweating? I have seen so many posts where people say to drink extra water to prevent it, but your explanation makes more sense
