DERRIK WHITSETT, PRO BB DEAD..

derrik had been ill in the past from a staph infection that effected his heart and made him retire from pro bodybuilding.. that was many years ago.. he had since got back into training and from, all accounts was looking great.. in december he was mugged and beat up pretty badly.. he started to complain of reoccuring headaches and doctors found a sizable blood clot in his brain..they performed a operation but, he suffered a couple of heartattcks on the table and the could not revive him.. rip brutha..

HMMMM, I hate people that take 2 or more guys to kick someones ass...plus he got robbed, and that in turn lead to his death. I hope those people that robbed him do get man slaughter...or worse.

lats ya beat me to it. helluva nice guy. trained at the gym i train at in hamilton NJ. knew him personally for the past 6-7 years, we had several in depth talks bout his situation with a bad heart, pace maker he had and how happy he was to have survived is multiple heart attacks and strokes he overcame. story i got was that he was riding his 4 wheel atv some punks tried to steal it off him, so he put up a fight. one guy had a gun and they basically kicked his ass. one of the guys kicked him square in the face causing the interal bleeding in the brain which went undetected for weeks. RIP big D

This is all what I heard, so do not assume that everything is fact, as details are sketchy. Derrick was mugged sometime in December, and was recovering. Unknown to anyone, he had developed a blood clot in the brain. Last week, he started to complain of major headaques, and when he went to the hospital, they scanned him, found the blood clot in the brain, and he went for an operation on Friday. Sometime late Friday Jan 23 / early Saturday Jan 24, he had a heart attack and they couldnt revive him.
