Sorry to hear about this man. My ex-girlfriend has a tumor shaped like a dumbbell with half in the are around the eye and half exterior to the skull. It was found by accident when the place we worked at was testing an MRI machine and needed a volunteer to go in the tube. She has been fine and never has major issues from it. Best of luck I hope you do well like my ex.

I've been having some intermittent vision problems on some mornings, a bit of trouble focusing after waking up. Not every day but often enough to bug me.
I had an MRI last Wednesday and they discovered a small tumor on the inside of my skull. It's pressing against the frontal lobe and has a tendril extending towards the optic nerves.
Good news is it's small, it's slow growing, and 85% of this type of tumor is benign, if it's benign a full and quick recovery is expected depending on whether or not I need radiation and or surgery.
Bad news is that if it is cancer it's already in the bone.......I'll just leave it at that since it isn't going to be cancer.

Neurology appointment on the 12th, Oncology on the 19th.

I am having similar vision issues/headaches, so went for vision test early December and they found optic nerve damage. Had MRI/MRV on Monday after a long wait due to getting Covid. Waiting to see eye specialist on Friday 13th for results. Hopefully good news is in both our futures.

regardless of the results. Your attitude is strong healthy which is sooo important. Keep your brain in the 'right place'

If she had no symptoms from that she was sure lucky it got found. Hope it was caught in time before caused her any issues and was it able to be removed?

No cancer! Further info is the tumor is small and located such that they feel surgery would cause more harm than good as the scar tissue would create issues. It is actually enclosed by the membrane surrounding my brain and is very slow growing. Neuro said some people have them for years and years and never grow. Also it's above the eye socket and not affecting my eyes.
She was concerned regarding my two major concussions in college football back in the early 80's back then as soon as your vision cleared you went back in.
She's thinking those and the tumor, which may be related, may have caused a mini seizure, so the next step is an EEG on February 3rd.
I swear I feel 100 pounds lighter right now!

Good to hear and perhaps a periodic check to keep tabs on it and if it does cause an issue later on then perhaps it should be removed then.

Yes, depending on the EEG results I'll have an MRI every six months or yearly.

Thank you for the kind words. We went to a specialist at a large eye institute and a surgery to remove the mass would be very invasive. She keeps an eye on it with yearly imaging when she can afford to. She hasn't had any issues with it so far since it was found over ten years ago.

if rad is needed look into proton therapy a radiation treatment (Gamma Knife)( Cyber Knife)
no surg they just shoot right through.
I M in treatment currently for a dif condition. I see many children in there having brain cancer treatment with alot of success

That's great news dens...congratulations! A big sigh of relief for sure!! However, remember how it felt when you thought it might be cancer. It gives you a different perspective on what's really important versus the frivolous things that you were wasting time worrying about! Trust me, I remember what it was like.
