weighed in at 216 the night before, didnt cut weight or anything
competed in the 18-19 year old class (im 19) and open
ended up with highest total

Squat: 635
Bench: 400
Deadlift: 675
Total: 1710

Congrats , those are some impressive numbers for any age, but even more so as a teen..!!!
 
Wow, that's damned impressive! Those are great numbers at any age and because Im not a natural bencher, I really admire that bench at your age. I couldn't do that until I was 22 and about 240lbs. Nice going!

How tall are you, BTW?
Keep progressing like this and you've got a bright future in PL!

A teenager?:eek: Very respectable lifts. I am interested in seeing you develop. One of my good friends back east was the hall of famer John Kuc.

I know, it kinda sucked but what do you expect lifting at a YMCA

atleast the plates were accurate though

we did have the one set of round ones on the inside which made it possible to roll the bar into place

What training program are you following?
My gym has those gay ass hex plates too, except we dont have even 1 round one. I'm trying to talk them into getting just one set, and I'll use 35s for the rest of the weight. lol
 
I like the High intensity/ Low volume stuff, frequency was lower during my training for this meet since i was squatting and deadlifting in the same week

Example Deadlift day would be like this ( i dont deadlift unless training for a meet)

Deadlift: singles up to 585 for 3-5 reps

Close grip pulldowns: 245x16 ( rest pause)

Bent over rows: 275x12 295x8

DB shrugs: 120's x20

then a RP bicep exercise and a forearm exercise
 
Nice, you should think about doing the Raw Nationals before you turn 20..I wouldn't be surprised if you took first.

What meet you doing next? The YMCA give you any prizes? My gym had one a while back, but it was squat/bench only, and the prize was a t-shirt. lol I didn't do it.

I'm doing the 531 program..love it to death..I got my meet come March.
 
Nice lifts man, esp being 19. You have years ahead of you to grow into the sport, keep training hard bro!

I am competing in my first meet next weekend. We weight about the same, Im a bit shorter. U got me by about 300 pounds on the total tho... Very, very strong bro!!! Good work man. Shoot, now I'm a bit leery of competing.... thanks alot hahah
