Now that im about to finish up school i was getting together my diet since ill have more time to cook etc. I use this book Power eating by susan kleiner for my nutirtion info its a super awsome book if you havent read it..

After doing my numbers heres what according to her book is good for bulking up with 5+ worksouts a week

protein - 320g
carbs - 770g
fat - 150g

total - 5700 calories

im 245lbs, 6`2

what you guys think about this

I workout 5 days a week 3 on 1 off 2 on 1 off and i do cardio 6x a week.
 
What's your BF % look like now? If you're fairly lean, your maintenance is going to be what, like 4500 max with your activity level?

For starters, I'd drop out 2-300g of carbs.

If you're on a cycle, add 200g of protein.
If not, add 100g of protein.

Try to eat clean :D

Maybe you're just really really carb tolerant, I know your plan would make me instantly fat though.
 
Creation:

All "bulk" is not good bulk. I agree with gelatin, that those macro would make me insta-fat. The odds on getting your proper macros together out of a book are slim. Also please note that for a lot of people the idea of "bulking and cutting" has morphed into just constantly growing with a clean diet with many even "growing into the show".

I would search more threads b4 I embarked on that diet. BTW for general purposes I would cut the carbs and get more calories from protein and fat.

i would drop the carbs by a good 200 grams. when you do that pay attention for the first 2 weeks as to what your body is doing. once you establish a baseline you will be able to manipulate your macro's to get the results you want out of your diet. its all trial and error. at least you have a plan and thats a good start.
 
k, I only eat complex carbs as well ie brown rice, whole grain bread, oatmeal, fruits and veggies..

Your Bf would be even lower, if you cut some carbs and fats and raise the protien, just my.02

Only 13% with a diet like that, you must be toting quite a metabolism bro! I eat that many carbs in like 4 days and our stats are FAIRLY close to the same (im a little lighter but a little leaner). I agree with what these guys are saying. With that much fat you dont need that many carbs. I drop it at least a couple hundo and maybe jam up the protien to 400....its a pain gettin it all in sometimes but thats what shakes are for :D
 
Carb Heavy.... mess around with that macro and getting it to come down to suit a more efficient bulk. If your body really needs carbs to grow, take your weight and multipy that by 2. If you are getting too bulking in a bad way, adjust those numbers. We are all sensitive to different macro's in all sorts of ways, figure that with your body...trial and error it.
